The flashing of standby light means that there is a failure on its circuitry. The system cotroller activates the protection mode if one part of the circuitry is gone bad to avoid further damage. Please count the times of flashes after 3 second of interval. The number of flashes helps us to locate the faulty components in circuitry & ill post other details to help you fix your unit.

Have exactly the same problem. Standby light flashing twice in 1 second then off for 5 seconds but will not switch on. This after switching off on the set following around 1 hour use. Switched all power to set off for around 30-40 minutes
Hello Charliebigwh, hi technically your monitor's power supply has a problem, this is either your switching regulator does not work or there is a short in that section, If you want to do it your self, need to replace all large value, and or high voltage capacitors(especially the capacitors with its top is bubbly), need also to replace the switching IC, and power transistor.
Have it checked by a technician if you cannot do the work.
1. Your Tv is in need of service. It sounds like the tube that give light to the screen for visual is defective and needs replacement. 2. The power supply circuit needs repair. Possibly a capacitor or diode has failed in the start up circuit
it is not possible for you to get it corrected as it requires tech knowledge.
please call tech person at your place to do needful.
it is not a serious problem.
