Hi, I just bought two Westinghouse LTV-32w4 HDC flat panel LCD tvs. I set them up. One works perfectly. The other:
Powered on okay. After about 60 seconds, the remote keys stop working. Any keys pressed - a warning appears on screen - invalid input key. Note however, it will play on the channel that it is on, good volume, good picture. Just can't change anything. I go to the TV itself, try the buttons....no response from any of them. Even won't power off. (Same with remote). Now, about two - four minutes later, the volume automatically powers down to 0. So, with no way to power off, remote or TV, I unplug. I then replug after 30 seconds. I can use the remote. No problem. I ensure the auto scanned channels appear (before loss of remote previously). They are working fine. For about one minute...then the problem recycles.. first the remote becomes useless (all keys). I can't change the channel. I can't power off (without unplugging), and after about five minutes, the volume drops to zero. (The picture remains). This has been this way since out of the box.
Also, I tried swapping remotes, since I bought identical sets. The remote works fine on the other good tv, and the good tv's remote does not have any positive effect on the defective tv. Can I hand carry the defective set to a local Service center?
Plug your cable connection to a vcr "in" then run a seperate cable cord from the vcr "out" to your television (which should be on channel 3 or 4) depending on your vcr setting and use the vcr to control the channel so when your westinghouse freezes and becomes unresponsive you could still change the channel and so on through your vcr and tv acts like a monitor works for me.
N.B be sure to set the volume and so on before it freezes which could be like a 1min window from turning your tv on

Same problem as Bayclipper: TV doesn't respond to side control buttons and remote except for On/Off. Yet as I'm writing this, it's suddenly working correctly after 30 minutes of use. I'll appreciate any advice.
Thank you.
Same thing ... right from the box, practically. We hope it didn't sit too long for a store return before we found someone to take away the old TV that was one of those "tons heavy" kind. It's only been set up four (well, actually 3.5) days!!
Did it several times the first few days, tho't it might be just one-channel problem where its signal was so close to the TV's own remote/etc/signal that they blocked it. Nope. Today, when I had to unplug it twice (pain woke me early) already, rather than just once, it was a different channel. So, I left it unplugged, hoping to find someone to help get it back to the store pronto!
