My CTC TV is locked (remote & screen)

Your TV is locked.

The Child Lock feature prevents unauthorized viewing of the

television. To activate, press and hold the Function key, and then

press MUTE. you should see a key symbol appear on the screen.

This will lock out all remote functions (except for Standby). To unlock

the TV, press and hold the Function key and press MUTE. This will

unlock the TV. Please note that the only way to activate or deactivate

the Child lock feature is via remote control - please insure that it is
stored securely.

try to press the display button on your remote for 5 sec, when the lock symbols disappear turn off your unit on the remote and unplug it

I came across it by sheer fluke I held the Number1 key and the very last key on my remote and held them together for about 10 seconds, this deactivated the lock that was on the screen. I asked a few technicians but, u know people just don't want to help anymore. So i hope that my solution helps someone with the same problem. Other CTC televisions can be fixed by the same method.

Somehow in handling the remote control I pushed a button or combination of buttons and now have a blue screen with a lock symbol in red in the top left hand corner. I've tried turning the tv off, and unplugging it, as well as a combination of buttons on the remote, but it still is there.
What do I need to do to remove the lock?

I dont have a clue what happened...
The screen is blue and has a little red lock on the upper left hand side...
remote only works to turn it on...no other buttons work.

The TV has been 'Locked'. To unlock it press the DISP button for 4 seconds. Since you have a universal remote and there is no way to determine which button is the DISP button try holding each button on the universal remote for 4 seconds until, hopefully, you find the correct one.

I have WANSA T.V model W2951, I have lost the remote control, Can any body help me to guide if any other remote can work with this T.V, & how to program it,

Sorry but you're going to have to be a bit more specific than that.. What kind of Tv is it, what model number, is it the original remote, do you have an otherwise good pic and sound, do functions (vol, ch, power) on the Tv work???
