Wow yet another GW.
made year 2002, worth zero value now, and no windows support.

why mess with 17 year old PC of any kind, ?
first google hit
There's a security screw on the back that needs to be removed to allow the front latch to release the side panel. It's the stupidest most confusing case ever. The latch is very hard to see, it's part of the black plastic in the front, just push down on things until you see one move a bit. It's sort of like a car door handle movement.

it only runs XP the virus magnet and zero support now on XP nor VISTA and soon W7 the same, (blink blink gone)

seems GW made many odd duck cases,
made in
Poway, California, in October 2001.
now is made in Asia by ACER.com 2007+ ended 2013 our market.

you may have collectors grade PC, but Gateway, nah.......

RAM upgrade for Gateway model MFATXNIN NMZ 300L?

Hi,
The system takes PC133 SDRAM, as far as i know without performing a BIOS flash it can take up to 1GB (2x512MB) most of these PC's are restricted to 2x256 so a BIOS flash could be imminent in this case.

Good luck

HOW DO YOU REMOVE THE COVER FORM A Gateway PC Model # MFATXNIN NMZ 300X CEL?

There should be a front release just below the Gateway logo. Press this and it will release the cover.

I'm trying to fix a gateway MFATXNIN NMZ 500SE

Check the adapter with a multi-meter to see if there is voltage at the plug that connects into the laptop. The oltage reading should be slightly higher than the voltage that is printed on the label on the adapter.
Try to borrow an adapter (same as yours) and connect it to your laptop. Also try removing the battery and power up the laptop without the battery but with the adapter connected (could be a battery problem).
