Are you using regular alkaline batteries? However, it seems that the camera is drawing to much power or a crossed circuit. If it is under warranty, take it in for repair.

Turn camera off and on again -- fried in outlet

Hi,

Error: TURN THE POWER OFF AND ON AGAIN is displayed on the LCD screen when the Lens Mechanism is stuck or when affected by any malfunction. If turning the power on and off again does not resolve the error message, try doing a power reset and Initialize option.

Performing a manual power reset

Turn off the camera.

Remove the battery pack.

Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.

Allow the camera to remain without power for 60 seconds.

Reinsert the battery pack.

Turn on the camera.

To reset the Camera back to factory default, select the INITIALIZE Option from the Main Settings 1 Menu of the Camera to OK. This will set the user defined settings back to factory default. The images and videos will not get deleted.

If the issue persists, service may be required.

Thanks for contacting FixYa.

Why are the pic small when viewing them on the computer. They are presented in a img.jpg format rather than simpy jpg. Is there a way to configure my camera Canon Power shot A550 to take pics only in a JPG...

img.jpg just means a j-peg image...it's normal. If the pics are small, maybe you have the picture quality on the camera set to a low setting and less than the maximum megapixels.

Can't view my pics

Hi,

You have a defective zoomunit. It must be replaced. Contact your local Sony center for repair. Or contact Rotronica in the Netherlands for replacement parts.

Black screen when camera is on...did you get an answer?

One configuration option for the F700 is to turn off the LCD when taking pictures and use the view finder-- this saves battery power. If you press the DISP button to the right of the LCD should turn on.
.
To turn the LCD back on-- Press MENU/OK (you should see the SELF TIMER screen). Press RIGHT ARROW to select the SET option. Press UP ARROW to select the SETUP option. Press MENU/OK. You should see the SET-UP screen. Use the UP/DOWN Arrows to navigate the options; use the LEFT/RIGHT Arrows to cycle through the options. The IMAGE DISP and the LCD options control when the LCD is powered on.

Canon powershot a75

I have a similar camera - there should be a slider button that lets you toggle between taking pics and viewing your pics. It is to the right of the screen (on back) and just under the selector knob on the top. When slid up (camera icon) you take pictures. When slid down (square with arrow icon) you view pics.
