Water leaking from Maytag M6T12F2A is this expensive to repair

Window AC units need to be leveled horizontally and slightly tilt back for proper drain purposes.

Locate the source of the leak and use a sealant. No need to get a new one unless you are made of money.

Older maytags were equipped with an "air-gap" that can leak if the rubber sleeve part of it gets too stiff and cannot flex. It is along the left hand side of the machine fastened by a 5/16" screw between the machine cabinet and the upper panel... Maytag Injector Tube 12001677
If you remove the front panel and set the machine to fill, you should see water dripping off of the plastic frame the injector is sitting in.

First to find the leak , most likely a rubber hose or water pump.

You will need to remove the whole front. Most window units, the front just pulls off. Just be be careful doing it.

If you purchased this unit new, it should have came with the remote. If it is a used model, you might try writing down the model, serial, and product number and check with the Maytag Dealer, or go online with all information and see if you can order a new one.

There are special tool designed to dissassemble this unit although it can be broken down without them if care is taken.

Having the model and serial number would help but be assured that the threading is standard (Rightie tighty, lefty loosy)

Maytag used different designs. Repair depends on the model/serial number. With this information I may be able to step you through the repair.

Knowing the age of your machine would be a plus in determining if repair is economically feasible.

maytag neptunes are the worst appliances to get. i worked for maytag and the neptunes are over price and break very easy. plus the cost of repairs are very expensive. i would recomend getting a new washer. youve put enough money into this one and getting it fixed is going to be expensive. especially when the fix is only temporary. something else is going to leak or break.
