Gateway E-4600 freezes even in bios setup, have upgraded power supply, new memory, reinstall system, swapped hard drives, happens after about am hour , but on hard reboot it freezes in a minute or two....

If your system freezes in the BIOS, then the issue is almost certainly the motherboard, which it sounds like you haven't replaced yet.
Good luck. Hope this helps! If so, please give a rating!

Where can I find info to setup bios. also how do I upgrade bios

Hi,
For this you need to know the exact model of your motherboard. Your current BIOS firmware version can be seen in the BIOS setup window itself ( Press DEL key during your system startup to enter into BIOS screen)
Your motherboard should have Flash BIOS so as to upgrade its firmware. All latest motherboards will have this type only. Goto your motherboard manufacturer website and search for latest BIOS firmware for your exact model. There itself you can find the utility required for BIOS. download that utility and using which you can update your firmware. Please do update your BIOS only if it is required.
I hopt his is helpful to you

I have a jetway motherboard and usb1 2 3 are not

You can activate the usb function from your computer bios. Turn on your computer and enter your bios by keep pressing the del key on your keyboard. The go to Advance setup and look for usb function settings and turn it on.

I hope this could help you a lot..:-) Thanks..

I change dvd-rw, HDD, reset Memory, but I can't load system.

I'd try a new ram stick or if you have 2 in remove one at a time & reboot. If it works, that's your problem. If not then it's safe to say it's the motherboard.

Upgrade proc from 1.7 to 2.8 ,

Try to find out from manufacture which processors are supported in different bios versions. You might have to upgrade the bios with your old processor as long as the bios you are upgrading to supports the new processor. This is true even if you have to downgrade bios meaning going to an earlier bios. It might not go into bios after the first reboot with old processor because it might not be supported but your new one is. this is when you do the CPU swap.

Hi i have a asus P4s533-mx and with a 3GHZ processor and with a geforce6600 (agp) and the games tend to freeze and i have to reboot my system?. any help please

It is the video card. Newer games are so graphic intensive that they freeze up the system if there is not enough video memory. You could try upgrading RAM but I had a problem running newer games until I installed a graphic card that had at least 512 mb video ram onboard. Hope this helps.

I have motherboard GA-8S661FXM-775, my BIOS OEM is 8S661FXM-775 F2c-F2c, installed in my computer SEANIX-8A1DAAE5, I upgraded my BIOS to 8S661FXM-775 F4, and the result is slowdown and freezing computer,...

if you backed up your old Bios replace it with the one you upgraded. if not download the correct Bios again and upgrade a second time,

remember that after you upgrade the bios you have to go into the bios settings and select something like "apply basic setting" or a similar statement, exit and reboot.

good luck & please rate my efforts
