The set, a Sansui Colour TV, Model No SV2918 -74cm, was working fine until ,the top right hand corner of the screen pulled in and caused a distorted picture about 10cm inwardly.About half an hour later the set suddenly blacked out. I replaced the the horizontal output transistor and switched the set on. No raster/no sound ,static felt on screen and nothing else. When the set is switched bsck on again, pilot light comes on for a fraction of a second and dies out.No raster/ no sound, but a faint hum is heard through the loud speakers, no static on the screen. I replaced IC 801, MC44608 being the power supply still nothing. Please can you help me? Thank you.
Try this, hang the collector pin of the HOT then try to switch on check the voltage its 115v dc,and check also the oscillation drive at the base of HOT take your VOM at 10v ac,ther must be a flactuate at the pointer.if the two procedure are good.plyback is deffective.but if u dont have any measured voltage at the collector of HOT ur problem is in the power supply. mc44608 is use at all old model philips tv.email me for wat happend

Don't know the model from the information you give, so can only give general advice, but you can try looking for OSD or On Screen Display or On Screen settings on the TV's menu.

The video1 is the input channel ,the auto is the sound and video system the tv uses to identify the signal(you have a multi system tv) {multi system (pal, ntsc, secam etc) if it is in auto mode you dont need to worry about it , the tv wil identify the system automaticaly and set the apropriate setings by itself.

You could press av on tv or on remote to switch between av1 /av2 /tv program etc, make sure the ant / dvd / cable etc is conected and on while selecting / pressing av button.
hope it works.
you do not have a CRT in your flat panel set.. What you might have is your color setting to high causing the bleed or your
T-con board is bad , but first turn down your color if that does not do it have a tech replace your T-con board
