Simply the player is dead! If you connected player to the pc with no problem it means NO ERROR messages and the driver for the player is ok, you have copied all the mp3 files in ONE directory to the player and nothing happened there are only two possibilities either the PLAY button is stucked or the mp3 player is dead!
Try holding down the play/pause button while you hook the cable up. You may have to hold the play button up to 60 seconds before the screen lights up. Also, try this: http://voxrightnow.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2200
I PLUGGED IN MY MP3 PLAYER TO THE COMPUTER AND THE SCREEN ON MY MP3 PLAYER LIGHTS UP BUT the normal screen image for when you normally plug it into the computer ISN'T THERE AND I CAN'T ADD MUSIC ON MY MP3 PLAYER.
Reformat the player. Then when you plug it in your computer toggle the bottons back and forth. Also down load the Vista version for the computer, it works for xp also.
If you can check the rechargeable batteries try that. If you plug it into a wall socket with the adapter and nothing happens you might have other major problems. Just a little education: when you buy something especially from other countries alway check it before leaving to make sure it works. Unless there is a company that you can send the warranty unit to you may be out of luck. Sorry.
