Question about Toshiba Portege M400 PPM40U01000E Tablet PC
I didn't have this problem with an older version of Windows. It happens EVERY time I try to use it on battery power, within 10-20 seconds from start-up. If I keep it plugged in, I can usually avoid it, except sometimes when it should be going to "sleep". The only way to stop the noisy, fast, hot fan is to flip the power switch to reboot.
It drives me crazy to have a laptop that I can't use without the power cord plugged in!

I think it might be the systemboard here.. but I strongly don't advise taking it apart yourself unless you know how because it can be tricky and you must be grounded

SOURCE: Recovery CD
ok you wouldn't have been supplied a recovery cd, you have to create it, to create one have 2 blank dvd discs ready and go to start menu and select help type in a search for recovery cd, this will explain how to create one....if your computer won't load into windows you will have to re-install windows again, cheers, any other probs please get back to me.
