Soyo monitor: Out of Range

Your windows 7 screen resolution is set too high and your display doesn't support it. There are 3 possible solutions to this problem:
1. Press F8 during startup and choose "Enable row-resolution video"
2. Press F8 during startup and choose "Safe mode" and change screen resolution there, then reboot.
3. You can always use another display (if you have one) to set screen resolution to lower value.

you should check what is the resolution of the monitor and the clock Hertz and adjust the the computer according to the monitor

I've spent a bit of time researching this problem for you and have come up with the following, hope it helps.

SOYO has quoted "All SOYO monitors are Plug and Play monitors. They do not require drivers to work". Recently SOYO went bankrupt so their website is now unavailable for any form of support.

What i would recommend to you would be to temporarily connect a CRT monitor (one of those big bulky monitors) to your computer, as these have a larger resolution and refresh rate capability.
Once you can see Windows 7, change the display settings to the minimum settings for your monitor (as a safe bet i'd set them to 800x600, 60Hz until you connect the LCD). Then connect your flat panel monitor again and set the display settings to an optimal level for you.

Again, i very much doubt that you will need a driver for this brand of monitor, and will be hard pressed to find one.

It is because the PC video output resolution is too high for the monitor to handle, you need to set the PC video resolution to the native resolution of the monitor.

Restart your computer in Safe Mode
(or reconnect your previous monitor).

Set the screen-resolution to 800 by 600 at 60 Hertz.
Shutdown, connect the new monitor, and restart, and your Soyo monitor will be able to display something, using these "NOT-out-of-range" values.

Try changing the resolution to 1024-by-768, or 1280-by-1024,
and "test' these values, to see what values are "in-range" for your new monitor.

What size monitor were you using before? If you were using a smaller monitor and everything was fine maybe this new monitor is out of range for the graphics card. I've found that not all graphics cards, especially older ones, will not run a monitor as large as 24 inches. If you can, connect this new 24 inch monitor to a computer with a more powerful graphics card. If it works then you will know that the problem is with your computer. Also connect your old monitor and go into control panel and see what range and resolution your graphics card will support. You may need a more powerful card to run the new monitor.

Is the mirroring still taking place or just on the one display.  If it just on the Macbook, go to the display settings and select the arrangement button, there should be a mirror button there.

your monitor doesnt have drivers for it.. and doesnt need drivers for that matter. It sounds like you dont have the right drivers installed for your graphics card. here is a link to the drivers you need.

Hi, these monitors are dropping like flys and it's due to power supply problems. There is a power supply that needs to supply 5v, 12v, 24v. The 5v and 12v is for the logic boards and the 24v is for the back light. On other boards people have tried to repair the supplies with no luck (same here).
The best fix is to purchase two power bricks off of ebay. Get one that supply 5v 12v that are used forexternal hard drive enclosures and get one 24v that is used for mac g4 laptops. Both can be had for < $10. Then you will have to replace the internal power supply with these. This is not for the beginner, but if you have any experience with soldering and wiring you should be able to do it. You will have to tap into the 12,5 volt wires, I used the PC style power 4 pin connections and attached the other end to the power supply. You will also have to do this for the 24 v lines. A bit of cutting / stripping, soldering and getting the AC to both will do the job.
The only thing that this will not do is shut of the 24 v supply during idle. Best this is to remove power from the monitor when not in use. This should fix an no / power / on then off / problems with this monitor.
Total time is probably about 2 hours and tools needed are the replacement power bricks, cutters, soldering iron, solder, electrical tape, screw driver... etc

Hi, It is just that at the initial stage your screen resolution was a tad too high for the capacity of the monitor. As long as you retain the working resolution you should have no problem. To lower or increase, right click on any clear area of your desktop, click on properties, settings tab, adjust the Screen resolution to your preference as long as it is within the capacity of your monitor. Adjust soon as your monitor says out of range, click on escape and go back one step. click on apply and ok and this should hold till you manually change it again. It's really of just the PC trying to give its best but the monitor was not up to it. Good luck and hope this works for you. Post back how things are or should you need further information.
