I can not send SMS message. SMS Message Center Number Error

I can not send SMS message. I get an error "Your text message can not be sent. Be certain that your service center address is correct in Settings and then try sending the message again." How will I check and set my SMS message center number? Please help me...

I had the same problem and came to this site for help but the solutions didn't solve the problem of "cannot send text message" on htc touch hd. All service numbers correct. Went to START/SETTINGS/CONNECTIONS/ADVANCED NETWORK/SMS SERVICE then changed from "gprs" to "gprs preferred". Double checked and had reverted to "GSM" but sms now works - finally!!! Hope this helps.

Go to settings>personal>phone>band change network type to GSM and Select GSM/UMTS band to UMTS(900+2100)+GSM(900+1800). Hope this solves everyone's problem of text message sending/receiving problem.

I tried what saibrains said, but it says 'cannot read settings from the network. try viewing later, or disconnect data connection and try again.'
it always says so... though i hadn't connected data connection.

I changed settings of my HTC Touch Diamond from GSM to GSM preferred (as daviddavi479 said) and it is now working fine. I didn't feel the need to change back to GSM as it is working fine with GSM preferred. Thanks everyone for your help.

Hey all i have htc touch diamond 2 i cant send sms with this phone but if i insert my sim card in another phone i can send sms easily i hav problem only with HTC toch diamond 2 when i want send sms can any body help u(i check message center numwas correct )

Hi... I have a htc touch hd mobile.. problem is the message send failed.. The network which I use is Ufone and the Message Center Number is correct but still its not sending the message I dont know is there any manual setting required in phone or some network setting required... Please help me if any body knows about my problem... Thankkssss

SOURCE: Cant send message...

Tap Start >> Settings >> Phone, go to Services tab, select Voicemail and Text Messages and tap Get Settings. You may change the service center number from here. In case you do not know the correct number, call up your SIM provider and get the number from them.

My mms messages do not send on my curve 8520, they try to send for a long time then show it failed to send, i tried sending to myself and that did not work
This could only be caused by a couple of things. The message center number in the handset may not be correct, which will cause the messages to fail. The other possibility is that the feature is not active on your account with your wireless provider. What you need to do is test a couple of things. See if you can send a text/sms message to yourself, in doing this you can verify that you can not only send, but receive text/sms messages. If you cannot send, or receive text/sms messages, then that verifies that the message/service center number is off, and will need to be corrected. If that works, and you can receive text/sms messages, then your service center number is correct, and you will move to the next troubleshooting step, which is to test your web browser. If you cannot launch the web browser on your handset, then this is an issue, because the MMS service requires that you have both SMS, and web browser service to send a MMS message. If you can access the internet and you have the ability to send/receive text/sms, then you need to call your service provider as the issue may be with their service.

Hi, go to your wireless provider web site and got their proper number "SMS Message Center Numbers".
On the phone, go to Options/SMS Text, move down to the Service Center line and put in the proper number remembering to put the + plus sign in front of it. So if you get a Protocol Error and a Red X when trying to send SMS text, check this to fix it..

My bb 9700 does not alert me on receipt of sms messages, it is also giving problems with sending of text messages, it does not show whether the message has been sent ot not, at times i have press send...

Error sending messages
i had the same problem and i could not find any source to solve it. At the end I found a way to solve this naked problem. I put the the simcard to another mobile and send a message to any number and it was sent. And then ı had delete the mobile center number and retype again and save. And then take sim card out and put it in the Iphone... The happyy End.. :)))) its start to sending the messages... HURRAYYYYYYYYY :)))))))))
