That error means that the Boot Manager is Missing. This is
usualy caused by either a failed hard drive, or a failed attempt at
recovery. If you try to do a recovery and then suddenly halt the
process, weather on purpose or due to somthing like power failure, then
the first bit of the Recovery boot process, the BTMNGR, can be hosed. If
this happens then your only option is to order recovery disks from the
manufacturer and install the OS that way.
You might boot into bios (F10 on startup) and do a hard drive self test first to make sure you dont have a hard drive problem...
You have a serious error on the hard disk caused by incorrect registry entries. The recovery disk is obviously from a different machine. If you at the start of booting press F8, hopefully you will get the menu inviting you to recover your system. If you don't, the recovery file is corrupt or missing and you will have to purchase a new OS. It is probably too late to check for viruses but worth a go with Norton.
You have formatted the hard drive (containing Boot Manager) using recovery disk 1. That's why the error message.
Just insert disk 1 again. Shut down the computer (press & hold the power button for a minute). Restart.
Follow the instructions that come up.
If it doesn't help, reseat the hard drive. (open the back cover, take out hard drive, reconnect it) Also you may go to BIOS (tap F1 while booting) and set the cd-drive as the first boot device.
0XE0EF000E is an error message and means that the boot sector is corrupt or missing. Re format the hard drive is the easiest way to recover and then restore your data backups. Place your Windows install disk in the dvd drive and boot up the laptop. Follow the prompts and if the menu asks if you wish to repair your version of Windows, select that option. It may work depending on how corrupt the system is. You may have to let Windows re format and start again.
If you trying to recover your pc from a recpvery partition on the hard drive, somewhere the recovery partions has had the file you need to process your request is missing. If you are using the disk that came with your system, you will need to perform a fresh install with formating your hard drive.
