Bought a gps at a pawn shop but didn't come with the manual

You bought what from a pawn shop? You can type the make and model of your device into a search engine like google.com and add the word "manual" to it---like this:

Brand CD player XX-400 manual

last 4 digits of the phone number used is the code number to reset ,or try this one default reset code *#7328748263373738#

Take the GPS back to the pawn shop. They should be able to get the pin number for you from the previous owner.

If they cannot or if they refuse, demand a refund from them. The unit is useless without the pin and it may even be stolen goods (illegal). If the dealer does not cooperate, report them to the local police for investigation.

Return the unit to the pawn shop. This is a PIN put in by the original user just in case it gets stolen. If the original user sold this to the pawn shop they would of removed the PIN or provided it to the pawn broker. If it was stolen there is nothing you can do but throw the unit out if the pawn broker will not help.

If a customer had locked the unit in a pawn shop, it would unlock in the same pawn shop as this would be the security location. And why would you buy a GPS you could not use? You have three options for unlocking a PIN locked Garmin GPS:

1 - Enter the correct PIN
2 - Take the unit to the location at which the PIN was entered
3 - Send the unit back to Garmin

No one has "figured it out yet" and there is no "fix" because this is a security design and not a flaw in the unit. It is to prevent someone from using a stolen GPS. If there were a workaround, the feature would be useless.

There's a small hole near the power jack. With the unit plugged in, use a paper clip and push in LIGHTLY into this hole. It will reset the unit back to factory specs.

According to the c550 owners manual, the only way to bypass the PIN request is to drive to the security location where the PIN was set. When you are at that location the GPS will NOT ask for a PIN. Since you bought the GPS at a pawn shop, you probably don't know the security location either.

In that case, according to the owners manual, you'll have to send the unit back to Garmin to be unlocked. Go to www.garmin.com

I know you won't like my solution but its the only solution available.
