It is impossible to see and movement as the crosshairs move such a tiny amount. Half a millimetre in the sight is 10 feet at the target. The only way to zero in sights is on a fixed bench rest at the range.
If you really think they are faulty, return them to the maker for repair. Tasco do have a Warranty and Repair Service.
I found this, but perhaps there is no activity at night. Check it at 1:00am, the LEDs should glow.
Camera stops taking images or won't take images
Please make sure that the SD card is not full. If the card is full (display indicates "FULL", the camera will stop taking images.
Check the batteries to make sure that they are new alkaline or lithium AA batteries. See note above about short battery life.
Make sure that the Power/Mode Switch is in the ON position and not set to OFF or AIM.
Make sure that you are using a good quality SD card in your camera. Tasco recommends SanDisk® SD Cards up to 32GB.
If the SD card has its write protect switch in the lock position, the camera will not take images.
If you have used an SD card in another device before inserting it in your Tasco Trail Camera, you might want to try formatting the card using the "Format" option in Setup Mode (pg. 8). Make sure you have backed up any important files first, as formatting will erase all previous files. In some cases, other devices may change the formatting of the SD card so that it will not work properly with the Tasco Trail Camera.

I always laugh when I see the picture shown on your question that FIXYA provides! Why? Because the scope is mounted backwards in the picture and is pointed TOWARD the ground!
All of Tasco manuals are on this web site. The MIRROR is the bottom of the telescope. The focuser is the UP end of the telescope tube!
In most cases, the camera is beyond economic repair. If the camera is a few years old, buying a newer one is a better option. I'm seeing brand name 10 MP models NEW for $60. you might check online auction sites for used ones. I've picked up 5 MP ones for $5.
