Lasko fan will not ocillate

Hi I have the same problem.  The fan works great but after a week it has stopped oscillating - which is a great feature and I am not sure I would have bough it if it didn't oscillate.
It seems that I am not alone with this issue.  What gives, Lasko? How to I get it fixed?

Troubleshooting a Lasko 2511 36" Oscillating fan stopped working.

most likely it is covered under manufacturers warranty

suggest checking with Lasko first as any attempt to repair it could void the warranty it still might have .

This a the fourth Lasko tower fan that the oscillator stops functioning within the first couple of days- is there anything I can do short of retuning yet another one?

i don't know. please check to ensure the switch or control for oscillate is firmly selected for ""oscillate"". move the control a few times to test.

Osilating stopped on lasko 2554 fan

Lasko's are good for stripping the gear in the base that makes it oscillate. If it's still under warranty, they will send you a new fan.

Can i fix my fan myself wont ocillate

Probably if you a little mechanically minded. Unplug fan and disassemble motor section and find the motor operated ecentric and find/ replace the screw/bolt of the oscillating arm.
Hope this helps

My Lasko E20739 blower fan works but does not oscillate. The small 120V motor that does the oscillating seems to be the problem. Please confirm and advise where can I buy s replacement motor Peter

i don't think it's going to be a motor issue, these fans have a round plastic gear in them that commonly go bad. remove the bottom cover by removing (5) phillips head screws, then unwind the power cord from the cord holder rembering the path, then remove the (3) large phillips screws, then just slide the base of the fan off and the gear is right there. if the gear is bad, you'll know cause there'll be pieces of plastic everywhere and the teeth on the gear will be rounded off. have fun. oh, for the part, i suggest contacting lasko at www.laskoproducts.com

Lasko fan has stopped ocillating (hoped I spelled that right)

You might also check for a loose wire in where the wiring harness goes to the oscillating motor. I had this problem and one of the wires had pulled out of one of the wire nuts inside a wiring compartment.
