Psp has power, but screen is black.

My friend swapped his psp screen for mine and it worked fine. Is the screen gone or does it need another back light?
Thanks for your help
Frances

My w1907 monitor is too dark to see anything without a flashlight

Your backlight is gone. LCDs usually use CCFL (Cold cathode Fluorescent Lamp) for backlight, maybe it's your CCFL power inverter (power supply for the CCFLs) or the CCFLs themself.. You probably won't be able to fix that for yourself :(

BLACKNESS?????

It sounds like you have lcd sensor that is gone out. You can either send it to Nikon to have it fixed, if its under warranty or you can send it to the camera doctor

http://www.cameradr.com/

He is a friend of mine and can fix it faster than Nikon.

My PSP is on and has sound but the screen remain black and it won't work

You probably either have a bad back light wich if you hold your psp up very close
to a light you will be able to see the display or your screen and light have gone bad
in wich case you can buy a new screen on ebay here is a link
http://shop.ebay.com/items/_W0QQ_nkwZpspQ20lcdQ20screensQQ_armrsZ1QQ_fromZR40QQ_mdoZ

and here is a link on how to replace the screen

http://www.llamma.com/PSP/PSPTearDown.htm

In order to do this you will have to void your warranty :\ but it should fix the problem

PSP comes on and plays fine then the screen goes black?

I am having the same problem.  The screen will intermittently come on as blurry.  Like all the text and graphics are doubled, but off by a few pixels.  Doing a sleep and turning it back on usually fixes it.  But I can not operate my PSP for more than like 10 seconds to a minute (varying) until the screen freezes and fades to black from right to left.  This usually occurs by pressing any of the buttons on the front panel.  If I am reading the news in the browser for instance and it is just sitting there, it is fine, then the second I hit a button, fades to black.  After it fades to black, sound and buttons continue to work.  I figured it was a bad LCD, so I purchased a brand new OEM LCD screen and installed it, however, the problem still persists with the new LCD screen, so it is not the screen itself.

My PSP Won't turn on.

Yeah you guys bricked it. It happened when you upgraded and turned it off or something while in the process. Now you need someone to unbrick it or ship it in to Sony, or fix your self easiest buy tool/pandora converter tool. XD
