Receiving a Communication Network Error on our Sharp MX 2300N only on the weekends. According to the tech this particular machine does not have a setting for work days only, which apparently is optional in some machines. All of our workstations are taken home at night, but the error doesn't happen at night. Not sure if this is a network issue.

I'm not aware of ANY MFP (multi-function printer) that has a week day only option for operation or communication. If your network is shut down during the weekends, the unit will produce a CE error code, as it will be unable to communicate with the server. It sounds like someone's shutting down a switch or router when they leave for the weekend and that's most likely what's generating this error.
