Hi there

Have you tried updating/flashing your BIOS. Only a suggestion, and does not always solve the issue, as some mobo's and bios' don't like the 64bit OS. Don't forget that flashing the BIOS is also VERY risky.

Regards

Tim

SOURCE: dvd boot error problem....

That error probably came from the CD ,doing a search on "bootscriptor" returns several links regarding bootable CDs.

Dell error code 2000-0151 incorrect status 28

That error indicates an "incorrect status" of your optical drive. I suggest you run the Dell diagnostics on your drive. To test your CD/DVD drive from the utility partition:
1. Reboot your system. When you see the Dell logo, hit F12 to enter the boot menu.
2. Select Boot to utility partition.
3. Select Test System.
4. Select Custom Test.
5. Use the arrow keys or mouse to select your CD/DVD drive.
6. Insert a CD or DVD.
7. Click Run Tests.
8. Write down any error messages.

DVD ROM is not booting when i insert the DVD . THE PRODUCT IS sony model PCG-61111W

if u r trying to boot for the first time it will not boot, u need to make some changes to the boot settings.
sometimes it automatically sets to default and u r not able to boot properly.
while starting the system continuesly press F2 or Del key > it will bring out the boot screen > go to the bootin options and make cd/dvd drive as the first booting device.
Then save the settings and exit the boot screen.
after restarting the system ur cd/dvd will be detected.
if does not then there is a problem with the cd/dvd, or may be it not created as a bootable cd/dvd.
try with another cd/dvd.

Hi I have a Toshiba Tecra M2 laptop with Windows XP Pro SP3. My CD-RW/DVD-ROM/CD-ROM drive is not working. When I try to burn a disc, it says no recorder, or no disc in drive. Also, Windows doesn't seem to...

>> it says IDE #1 error when it boots up.

IDE #0 is your disk-drive.
IDE #1 is your CD/DVD drive.

So, take your computer to a qualified technician, to first check that the connectors (power, data) from the motherboard to the CD/DVD drive are good, and then, if necessary, to remove & replace the "dead" drive.

Trying to fix a grey screen problem on a macbook. I tried to reinstall the cd and it stuck with errors report. Now it won't reinstall or boot from the cd. When I check the disc utility it says, capacity...

Since no MacBook was ever made with an 8GB hard drive, I have to assume you are reading the capacity of the DVD, which isn't an interesting statistic.
There is no reason your MacBook should not boot from the DVD. Even if the internal drive was physically absent it should still boot from the DVD.
If it is not booting from the DVD, then either your DVD is bad, your optical drive is bad, or you have logic board issues.

When I connect my SATA dvd drive my comp continuously restarts. Without it, it runs fine.

hello !

Thats wired is it so  ? ok  go to your computer  set up and  see what's the booting order .

If it starts with cd  rom first  reset to boot from hard disk first  ie its should be in this order

1, hard disk
2, cd rom
3 floppy disk

good luck
