Are you saying that the thread is breaking?

CAUSES of upper thread breaking

needle is in backwards
improperly threaded
tension to tight
needle bent or blunt
thread to coarse for size of needle
needle too long for machine
burr on needle
tension discs worn so that thread works in grove
neele too fine for size of thread and fabric
lint or dirt around bobbin case holder
irregular sewing speed
AND THE BIGGEST PROBLEM IS:
threads not properly pulled back under pressure foot when starting to sew
This means, Have enough of the upper and lower thread pulled to the back and hold for the first 2-3 stiches,

Do this every time and it will become second nature and you will do it automatically

When i use the zig zag stich, sometimes the stich falls and does not zig zag

try a new needle--one for the fabric being sewed

could be a problem with the cam that does the zig zag, you might need to have the machine checked

if your sewing with light weight fabric also try using stablizer

My needle keeps coming unthreaded when sewing

normally when you use longer thread tails of 4 to 6 inches and move

I was sewing some thick cloth and my needle broke. Now it want sew a good stitch. It keeps unthreading from the needle like its not feeding the thread right. I have to retrhead after I try a stich. It...

Hi, make sure there are no needle parts stuck in the bobbin/feed dog area. Also, make sure there is no lint in the same area. In my sewing experience, lint jams up smooth operation of all sewing machines.I would take apart the bobbin case, clean it and reinsert. Also, make sure that it has been oiled according to the instructions in your manual. Another issue which sewers forget about is changing needles....if there is a burr on a needle, threads break, don't feed properly, create more fuzz and eventually break. I hope this help you.
Happy Sewing.

I have a singer model 2200 inspo\iration sewing machine. The top stich sews perfect, but the bottom stich balls up.

Totally rethread your machine, then check your needle, put in new one if you haven't changed it in awhile or not sure if it is bent. Usually it is in the top threading for problems underneath. Also, make sure that you are using the same weight of thread top and bottom or else you can have problems. Good luck

Sewing machine

This is the general rule of thumb.
Loops on the bottom, problem is on the top. Loops on the top, problem is on the bottom.

This is what you should try.. First of all, unthread the machine and start over. Just before threading the needle, put your presser foot down. If the thread pulls thru easily, it is not thru the tension wheel right. If you cannot pull the thread thru, thread the needle and try a few stitches.
