My Vizio turns itself off on a certain channel (ch 17-1 Phila)

I re-scan the channel for few times and the problem still there. Whenever I turn to channel 17-1, my Vizio turns itsel off. Any advice?

I have this problem too with not being able to connect to KTLA 5. I would suggest contacting KTLA. Maybe they might have a solution.

Nk_kborg - I had the same problem yesterday. Ch 5-1 in LA. It works now though. My only theory is that somehow the rating for the movie I was trying to watch (Saving Private Ryan) was messing up the child protection software of the TV and causing it to shut down. The channel works fine today (and worked earlier in the day yesterday before Saving Private Ryan came on)

We purchased a Vizio 42"

This is more of a provider problem. Report the signal problems to the service you subscribe to for tv.

I have a Vizio E422va. It will turn itself off and the light will blink for about a minute. What is the problem and is there a fix?

Not a solution but EXACTLY the same TV and same problem. Have tried: Unplug for 2 hours, press CH+ and CH- simultaneous, then press/release power, then release CH+ and CH-. Nothing..

I don't have a problem I have a question. I have a rotor antenna. I am in between NYC and Phila. If I autotune in NYC and want to turn my rotor for Phila will this tv allow adding of channels without...

Most sets with digital tuners do this. The best thing to do is manually save them into memory, unless they are the same numbers, this would keep the channels tuned until you go back to them

TV freezes up when turned to channel 33-1

I had the same problem. I also use rabbit ear antenna , no cable or satellite. I was watching ch. 33.1 and the tv turned off by itself. The remote wouldn't work. The power on/off buttons on the side of the tv wouldn't work. I had to un-plug the power cord to turn the tv off. The tv forze on ch. 33.1 when I turned it back on.

I called Vizio, they told me they received hundreds of complaints from people in Texas complain g about these problems.

I was told to un-plug the antenna cable and re-plug it. I did this plus I re-scanned all channels. The problem has been solved, the channel (33.1) no longer freezes and the tv doesn't turn off by itself.

Hope this helps.

47" Vizio Flat screen HD LCD freezes up and remote will not work.

could it be Ch 9's digital signal is not broadcasting right? what is your refresh rate on your tv? 60 or 120hz? if its 120hz, then its more then likely the digital broadcast, if its 60hz I think its your tv can't keep up with their signal that may be at 120hz. Make since??
