KDL-40S2000 horizontal black lines

SONY KDL-40S2000 The television was fine until this morning. It now has a black horizontal band on the top half of the screen that gradually fades. What could be causing this problem?

Seems T-Con board mounted at top center at rear of LCD Panel is bad.
Local TV tech will fix TV by replacing T-Con board.

Sony bravia internet tv has a pink horizontal band across the screen
If the line is Horizontal then you deffinantly have a cable issue, replace the cable and that should do it, if it continues the problem could be in the port itself, if using HDMI switch to VGA or composite to test this theory. please keep me posted.

There is a horizontal line running along the top of thre screen 1 inch from the top in AV1 digital and HDMI. Sony KDL-46w45000kd
Check the main menu to change the aspect ratio; it may not be set right for external material.

Line thru screen
The LCD Panel must be replaced to fix both problems. The cost in doing this would exceed the value of the set. I recommend not putting the money into it.

In the service mode there is a way to adjust the picture position. Can be done by Sony auth servicer.
