Nice refrig . Is there ice in the icemaker and it just wont dump ? Does the icemaker have no ice or water inside ? Are the coils clean under front of refrig ? Dirty coils can keep the icemaker from dumping , if it contains ice inside . If no water in icemaker , Pour about 1/2 cup of water into icemaker . If it dumps the cubes , replace the water inlet valve ( piece the wall water line connects to on refrig ) . If the icemaker doesn't dump , check the coils . If coils are clean , replace the icemaker . Also , make sure the metal arm on the icemaker is down (up-off , down-on )

Take a 4 inch piece of 14 gauge insulated wire and strip 1 inch of insulation off each end. Bend the wire into a U shape.Remove the plastic cover from the front of the icemaker. Insert the bare ends into the terminals marked T and H on the face of the icemaker. The wheel should move and dispense the ice into the bucket. If it does not move and drop the ice replace the icemaker.

Whirlpool mod#ED5FHEXNB00 isn't making ice

Freezer temp has to be below 10 degrees for ice maker to work. Also check to see if water/ice is in the tray. If no ice in tray then the water solenoid valve is not feeding the unit. If ice in tray then the heater is not working to melt the ice a bit so it can be scooped out into the ice tray. And make sure the feeler arm is down into the ice tray bin - if not, ice maker is shut off.

My ice maker makes a lot of noise at night I wake hearing it making ice droping sounds. I don't use a lot of ice can I turn the infrared receiving switch to off?

The noise is probably ice dropping into the pan and the normal ice maker and water valve sounds associated with making ice. Most Whirlpool models have a slide cover to "turn off" the ice maker - closing this cover fools the control into thinking the bin is full. Your owner's manual should provide greater detail on this option.

Whirlpool mod.ed25pqxfw1 will not despense ice. motor will not run. is there a test procedure?

I found a parts manual through Whirlpool and it says your ice maker is mechanical type. Fill with tap water and let freeze and if ice maker cycles and dumps the ice but does not refill the the water control valve part number 2182106 but that number has now changed to 2188542. Try this test first and I will send the parts manual and user manual. The test will point to what is happening like water control valve or the fill thermostat inside the ice maker, Thanks, Sea Breeze
