5 disk changer won't open or close and won't disk skip properly when the buttons were pressed.
I am no expert, but to save someone all the time that I invested with this freezing up issue, will post. Right before it was going to the curb as junk, I unplugged it, reached in with the cover partially off, and forced the circle that holds the cd's to turn an inch or so. Powered it back on, and was back to normal
I'll try if I can help!...electromechanical designs must have position sensor or switches to monitor mechanical movements. You've tried to reset by draining but didn't work.If you can open the unit (unplugged) try to find the loading motor usually with belt or worm gear etc. try to rotate until the mechanism reaches the start/ ready position.also check the belt if belt driven.lubrication may also help stacked mechanism.I need votes! that help?
There should be a small hole near the door, unplug the unit. Get a paper clip and straighten one end and put in the little and gently apply pressure to open the door.

I wish it were that simple. But there's no hole anywhere on the unit. :-(
