I wish someone had figured out the solution, because my DVD player, which has worked just fine in the past, now says root. On my first ten or so attempts, it seemed to be playing, but there was neither picture nor sound. The last five or so attempts, all it says is root. The manual is totally silent on this situation. The troubleshooting guide doesn't mention the possibility.
I already posted the solution I found just moments later. Press the DVD menu button and the word "root" goes away.

I found the solution a few minutes later. Press the DVD menu button on the lower left of the remote.
No, as I've now reported twice, all I needed to do was to press the DVD menu button, which was a solution I found on another website!
Is this a burnt copy of a DVD or possibly a CD?
