Check the motor capacitor,sometimes the capacitor could be faulty or the motor is faulty or check if the motor is receiving power,if it's receiving power try to replace the capacitor if the is any in the system,if still it's not working then the motor could be burnt.

Also check weather the timer is perfecty.

you may have a bad motor control board they are very expensive. There are screws on rear top panel and the top slides off. The board is located on the left side. If you hear a click when you start it then there is a relay got on board.

Is there a fualt code that is listed. you might need a new board. It sounds to me like the board has a short.

Yes, there is a child safety control on the Whirlpool Duet. The Control Lock is a safety feature that allows the consumer to lock the control panel to prevent small children from manipulating the controls. The following link explains how to turn the feature on/off:

Unplug the machine for a few minutes and then replug, it will reset the controller. If this does not work, then perhaps a component has failed

You said, you replaced burned out dryer bulb on Whirlpool GEW9250PW and now drum light won't shut off even with door closed. Dryer will not work but all panel lights function normally - UNTIL you press start. Dryer just beeps and doesn't work. When I tried the troubleshooting solutions, the error 6E comes up. This sounds like the reason your bulb went out was more than just a bulb normally dying!
There is a short, or in that socked or the switch or it affected the the control panel too!!
This sounds like a hands on diagnoses job!
