Icemaker only dispenses crushed ice

We can't get the icemaker to dispense cubed ice ever in our Frigidaire side-by-side...how can this be fixed?

Your selector solenoid is not working. Next to the auger motor there is a selector. You will see a plastic peice in a hole to the left of the auger.....Try to move it up and down. If it won't move it is more than likely frozen in one spot. Try to defrost it. If that does not work then replace the solenoid.

LG ice maker will not dispense cubes without crushing them

Check the evaporator system, that release the cubes, when that does not work the cubes stay stuck inside.

I have a Frigidaire FRS23H5ASB9 side-by-side. The "cube" button works, but only crushed comes out. "Crushed" button works fine, too, but we usually want cubes. What's causing this? Is it the dispenser or...

most likely the solinoid is frozen or bad.. pull ice bin, the metal lever on back of bin fits in solinoid in freezer see if you can move plastic piece in freezer with finger.

Our GE Monogram Icemaker will only dispense crushed ice

You have a solenoid switch which switches the dispenser back and forth from crushed to cube. It could be stuck or not working or the parts connecting it could be disconnected or broken. You will have to observe to see if any parts are moving and if any noise is coming from the solenoid
Remove the dispenser cover by gently prying starting at the bottom going round and round a little at a time to prevent from breaking it. When it's off the screws will be exposed to access the other components

Only crushed ice from ice dispenser

Switch is frozen. Defrost freezer and it starts working again.

Icemaker only dispenses crushed ice, not cubes

There is an opening next to the auger that dispenses the ice. In there there is a lever that must move up and down. It actually seats the metal rod on the bottom of the ice maker and controls cube or crushed. Make sure the lever is down (cube position) when you return the basket to the freezer. Ice dispenser only dispenses crushed ice

Pull out your ice bin. In the back of the bin you will see a rod protruding from one side. That rod goes into an opening in the rear of the freezer. There is a solenoid behind that opening that raises and lowers the arm on the ice bin giving you crushed or cubed ice. Check to see if that solenoid is froze up or if your rod got stuck under it. If all check ok then replace that solenoid.
