Connected to direct tv. Turn on remote. Lots of normal clicks from tv. But no picture, sound for a few seconds. Than nothing except the little yellow light that indicates power is on to tv blinks erratically. When that light stays off. Than I can try the remote again. But still have the same problem. May have lost power to the house earlier the same day problem begain.
There are capacitors on the power supply board that dry out with age. You can identify them by observing the tops of each of them. They have to be flat, not domed. Some of them may be discolored from heat. You can get parts from here: TV Parts Universal TV Stands DLP Chips ShopJimmy

The first thing in this unit is to check the ribbon cable that goes from the front control panel to the back ssb board, I would unplug and replug to make sure seated properly. Then try it again. There are alot of screws to take out but worth it if this solves the problem.

There are 4 1000 mf. 35 V caps. on the AC IN pwb. (power supply) that are chronic fail items. After back is off, slide the chasis on the left side back toward you. Slide about 1/2 inch and it will lift out of track and then the chasis will be more accessible. The said caps are the tallest on the bd. and 2 are located side by side on the bottom front of the chassis. The other two are side by side about an 1 1/2 above the other 2. Most likely the top of the caps are pooched out. Replace all 4 whether they look bad or not. Problem solved
