New batteries are not accepted

When i turn on the camera, new batteries r in, it still says "change batteries", and shuts down. pls. help! it's very annoying.

Put batteries in very carefully - not bouncing them in. If you get the 'change the batteries message' then open the battery cover turn the camera a little gently to reposition the batteries and hopefully it should go away. Test your charger too ... is it charging? is it the same thing with non-rechargeable batteries?remember Batteries don't work well when cold this could cause the camera to shutdown. It might also be that the auto shut down setting is too short unless it is shutting down while you are actually shooting.make sure you are using the correct battery type and match.clean the contacts in the battery compactment.hope this helps

Camera shuts down

Usually when the batteries are low a camera will shut down right after it is turned on. Try changing the batteries and see if this helps the problem.

Camera will not turn on,and will not accept a charge

Remember if charging thought the computer to switch the camera on.

Here are the steps:
1. Make sure you will install a new or fully charged battery/batteries into your camera.
2. Clean the battery contacts.
a. Remove the battery/batteries and the memory card from your camera, then wipe the battery contacts with a soft, clean cloth.
b. Reinstall the battery/batteries into your camera
3. Without the memory card,turn on your camera.
4. Pls test with an alt. batt.
If you do not have access to a dif. battery.
Pls. take the batt out of the camera. Insert the charger into the unit from the main socket and turn the camera on. If the camera works you will need to replace the batt. or the cable. If not you will need to order a No power repair or a new cable. Accesories are covered under the same Man warranty as your camera

Camera Shutting Down

Did this for the same problem on the PowerShot A570 IS and it worked wonderfully (thanks to other poster): For the PowerShot A 430: Take out the batteries, then hold down the power button for 30 seconds or more, then reinstall the batteries. Problem solved!

Power problem cybershot DSC-S650

i got a same problem with u guys but mine is a prize from sweepstake. now i don't know if i should spend money to fix it.

i usually just press playback to turn it on and wait until itsself to turn off. i guess this is my alternative on/off, but so far it's okay
