Not drying hotpoint washer/dryer model wd440 Hotpoint WD640 1400spin washer dryer purchased september 2005 the dryer has never worked from new. Put the clothes into dry 3 hours later they are still wet!!!

Hotp[oint Aquarius WD440 washer /dryer - Has a distinct smell from clothes when washed like stagnant water is lying somewhere in the machine, It has all benn stripped down but cannot find anything wrong. Whats the solution????

went to shop and got new one

press and hold on off button till the display panel lights up.Then press and hold the on/off button and the start /cancel button together.You will now reset the washing machine settings.And just pick your cycle again

the steam gets condensed back to water and pumped away so sometimes draining problems cause poor drying. is the machine plumbed in according to handbook?
also your dryer filter may be blocked but this is not accesable without the dryer box being stripped down.

yes, the dryer is pants im afraid. weve had ours going on 4 years & it has broke down every 6-10months - seriously! the dryer will leave clothes hot & steamy but when hung up for 1/4hr they r dry! _ Hotpoint advised us that he machine is esigned his way - but dont believe a word from their corporate b***hit mouths!

if you hav'nt fixed it try the element in the dryer unit on the top of the drum check it for continuity have you any flashing lights

This sounds like a faulty pcb and/or inlet valve. see links for prices.

meatballs77 - If you have warranty (the machine is less than 1 year old which yours is) or paid for extended cover then call hotpoint to replace... Hotpoint should be able to fix this - this should be free. call 0870 4422 510

Rememer parts are free up to five years - but there is a £90 callout fee after the first year.(unless you extend the full warranty)
