None of my SD cards (I have 4) will work with my panasonic lumix

My Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ20 won't recognize my SD cards. The camera reads "card error" and will not let me access the menu to reformat. I bought a card reader and erased the SD cards but the camera will still not recognize the clean cards. What can I do to get my SD cards back in working order with my camera?

I can't. It won't let me get into the set up menu. I have to figure out some way to reformat for the camera from my computer using my card reader/writer. How can I do that?

This camera uses the SD standard - not SD HC.
Be sure you are using a compatible card!
The highest capacity mentioned in the manual is 1GB althought the SD stanard supports up to 4GB.

Go into the setup menu and do a "reset". Make sure the contacts on the card are clean and the switch on the side is in the unlocked position.

Try a manual reset...remove the card and battery. Press all the buttons. Insert the card and then the battery. Turn the camera on.

I have a panasonic lumix DMC-FZ20 camera that i installed an 8g memory card but it says memory card error

The DMC-FZ20 works with MMC and SD cards, 2GB or smaller. Your 8GB card is an SDHC card, which fits into the slot but is electronically incompatible.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ20 SD Card Reading Issue

Plug you camera into USB. Go to My Computer and find a drive device named External Drive or USB Storage etc. Click on this and you should see a folder named DCIM (digital camera EXIF standard Digital Camera IMage folder. This is your cameras memory card.

Click on this and find a subfolder(s) named according to manufacture. For Panasonic it would be 100_PANA or maybe 101_PANA. These are you picture folders. Click on one to find pictures. Drag and Drop folder to computer to download them.
