Reset. Orange light blinks several times. Then Green. Then orange several times, then... on and on. Cannot reset. All ink cartridges have ink.

count the number of orange flashes in between the green light. two flashes = out of paper, 3=paper jam, 4=empty ink tank, 6=print head not installed, 7=print head defective, 8=waste ink tank is almost full

Set of 4 alternating orange and green flashes. No carriage movement when opening lid. All started with waste ink tank issue and then trying multiple 'fixes' from online

FLASHING ORANGE LIGHT ERROR MESSAGES

Try counting the number of orange flashes.
* two flashes means you’re out of paper or the paper is not feeding correctly.
* three flashes means there is a paper Jam or the output tray is closed.
* four flashes means the ink tank is empty
* five flashes means the print head is not installed correctly or not installed or is defective (before buying a new print head always try the cleaning instructions at the end of this post first.)
* six flashes means the inner cover is open or not closed properly.
* seven flashes means you counted wrong.....
* eight flashes means the waste ink absorber is almost full or full.
* nine flashes mean that a digital camera or video that is connected is not compatible with the printer. If a specific amount of time lapses without getting a response from the digital camera or video camcorder this will happen.
* ten flashes means it can not print to both sides of the page
* eleven flashes means the automatic print head alignment failed. (this can be caused by low ink levels, ink tanks not being installed correctly, the print heads being clogged. It can also be caused by the paper output slot being exposed to a strong light source (Press the resume /cancel button and move the printer to a darker location and try to align the print head again.
* check to make sure the lock lever is correctly positioned (down)
If the above does not work, align the print head manually by opening the printer properties dialog box and clicking the maintenance tab and then select the print heal alignment button on the left side, second row down.

The middle light keeps flashing 7 times then stops then repeats. the other button to change the paper type. i dont think its a ink issue possibly a paper one.

This mean multiple ink tanks of the same color installed or Ink tank in a wrong position.Check your ink tanks. This ink tanks has a memory chip.Sometimes this chip fails.

1. Turn off printer
2. Hold down Resume button and press Power button.
3. Keep holding down Power button and let Resume button go.
4. Press Resume button 2 times then let BOTH buttons go.
5. Green lights will flash and then stop blinking.
6. When green lights are solid, press the Resume button 4 times.
7. Press the Power button and the printer should turn off, if not, press the Power button once more.
8. Your printer should respond as normal.

Tank absorber full and lights blinking

The POWER Lamp Flashes Orange Eight flashes: Waste ink tank almost full
The printer has a built-in waste ink tank for the ink used during print head cleaning. Eight flashes indicates that the waste ink tank is nearly full. Press the RESUME/CANCEL button to cancel the error so you can continue printing. Before the waste ink tank becomes completely full, contact a Canon service representative.

Note
Canon recommends that you call for service as soon as this error occurs. Once the waste ink tank becomes completely full, printing will no longer be possible.

Replaced Yellow Cartridge, Red light on, close lid, not working,

Hi ...

I would suggest that you follow the below stesp to install the ink tank ..

. Ensure that the printer is on, and then open the Top Cover.
The Print Head Holder moves to the center.

Note: If the Top Cover is left open for more than 10 minutes, the Print Head Holder moves to the right. Close and reopen the Top Cover to return the holder to the center.
2. Open the Paper Output Tray.
Put your fingers in the notches in either side of the Paper Output Tray and pull down to open it, and then pull down the Inner Cover forward to open it.
3. Remove the ink tank whose lamp is flashing fast or is off.
Push the tab and remove the ink tank.
Do not touch the print head lock lever; remove only the ink tank.
ip4300_remove_ink_tankgif.gif
Caution: Handle ink tanks carefully to avoid staining clothing or the surrounding area. Discard empty ink tanks according to the local laws and regulations regarding disposal of consumables.
Note: Be sure to replace ink tanks one by one when replacing more than one ink tank.
4. Prepare a replacement tank.
preparetank.gif
* Do not touch the electrical contacts on the ink tank. Doing so can cause the printer to malfunction or become unable to print.
Unpack the new ink tank and completely pull off the orange tape. Then, remove the film. Remove the orange protective cap from the bottom of the ink tank and discard it.
Important:
  • Be sure to remove the clear film from the ink tank in the exact order shown in step 4, as failure to follow this step may cause the ink to leak and stain your clothes and hands.
  • Do not squeeze the side of ink tanks as this may cause the ink to leak out and stain your clothes and hands.
  • Do not re-attach the protective cap once you have removed it.
  • Do not touch the open ink port once the protective cap is removed, as this may prevent the ink from being ejected properly.
  • Ink on the removed protective cap may stain your clothes and hands.
  • Ensure that all the orange tape has been peeled off along the perforation. If there remains a part of the orange tape, ink may not be output correctly.
5. Install the ink tank.
ip4300_install_ink_tankgif.gif
(1) Insert the ink tank into the Print Head.
(2) Press on the 'PUSH' mark on the ink tank until the ink tank snaps firmly into place.
(3) Ensure that the ink tank lamp lights red.
Important: Ensure that all the ink tanks are installed in the order directed by the label. The printer cannot be used unless all the ink tanks are installed.
6. Close the Inner Cover.
Note: Ensure that the Inner Cover is closed. Printing will not occur if the Inner Cover is open.

7. Close the Top Cover.
The Print Head Holder moves to the right. The ink tank installation process is now complete.
  • The ALARM lamp still flashes orange after the Top Cover is closed if an ink tank is not installed properly. Open the Top Cover and make sure that all the ink tanks are installed in the correct order directed on the label.
  • To maintain optimal print quality, use an ink tank within six months of first use.
  • Once an ink tank has been used, do not remove it from the printer and leave it out in the open. This will cause the ink tank to dry out and the printer may not operate properly when it is reinstalled.
  • Color ink consumption may occur even when black-and-white or gray scale printing is specified.
Color ink is consumed in the head cleaning and deep cleaning, which are necessary to maintain the printer.
  • When you start printing after replacing the ink tank, Print Head Cleaning is performed automatically. Do not perform any other operations until the Print Head Cleaning finishes. The POWER lamp flashes green during cleaning.
Don't forget to vote if this helps ... Cheers :)
