Magnavox LCD HDTV starts on its own since last few months and sometimes it changes channel on its own. This problem happens intermittently and really apprecaite fix for this. This TV is 15 months old.

Philips model 32pf3320/10 all channels blocked when i press enter a cross appears in red on left corner it doesnot tune any channels

It either needs new front switch panel or new signal module, turn the tv on and disconnect the front switch board if it quits doing things on it's own you need a new front switch panel, if it still does functions on it's own you need a new signal board.

Magnavox MDR533HF7 timer programmer records wrong channel sometimes
You have to record some channels manually and you can not use the timer. Since TV went digital the channels are not really on the channel that you see. Where I live channel 5.2, 5.3, 5.4, and so on are really on channel 35 and 45. This tuner has a hard time with these channels because they are not on the station that you see and it does not look like this will be fixed.

yes replace the lamp, sony units have certain specs that the lamp must meet to operate correctly. If the Lamp you purchased is made by LTI, these lamps do not last long as they are poorly manufactured. Look at the bulb and see who is the maker if its says LTI then replace with a Phillips brand that meets spec's for sony.

My Visio turns itself off and on when I change to one channel
I had the same problem. Tech support told me to turn the tv off, then unplug it. Then hold the power button (on the tv - on the bottom of left side) in for 30 seconds and try again. This did solve my problem.

Most manufacturers consider a few dud pixels to be normal and not a defect. Especially if not in the center of the picture.

Don't get fixated with watching the dot, look at the overall picture. It is like staring at a pimple on a pretty lady's chin.
