Hello i just brought a kenwood kvt 911 from auction. Sellers said it was working when taken out. I haven't install the unit in my car yet because its to dark outside. But i have try to see if the unit powers on and functions. I put red & yellow to positive and black to negative. the unit powers up but monitors doesn't slides out and unit turns off in about 3 seconds after i tap the positive and negative. When i press the open buttons it powers up then shuts down again. Do you know whats going on? and whenever i do tap it to power it up , it makes a sound like a cd is ejecting from the unit.
I have a question. Everything is working perfectly except for there is no picture on the TV nor DVD. It was working fine until the other day when I messed around with some wires seeing if any of them were loose. Any suggestions?
The problem is the green wire on the back of the head unit. it is supposed to go to the emergency break as a safety feature however if you just ground it with the black wire you will be able to open it at any time.
I had a KVT910DVD / BRAIN/ KNA-DV2100 in my car but the head unit was shutting on n off n i had to reset it every other week. so I got a KVT911DVD from a guy in streetcarforum.com. he claimed that he had seen the unit work with his eyes. now i replaced the head unit with almost new KVT911DVD. i hooked up all the wires exactly the same way as with my previous head unit. but now the monitor would not slide out. i found that the hideaway brain is compatible with both units.
i called Kenwood USA n they want the unit to be sent in. is there any other trick to it that i am missing.
I have a kenwood kvt911. i have a problem with the sound which is when i turn the volume higher than 20 the whole system shuts down and reloads again. if you have the same problem please help.thank you
Ground the green wire
You need to hook up the brain hide-away unit to the DVD player
There is a green wire on the head unit you need to ground that out so the stereo thinks the e break is on. so that the screen will open
You have to have it hooked up to your car can't just hook it up to the battery. If you only have it hooked up to the battery the unit will turn on open allow you to put the code in then shut off. I have it had the problem fixed it and it works great
You have to have the brain unit and 16pin data cable connecting the two!
You must also ground out the parking brake (Green) wire or the unit will not open.
This unit require that the brain and the head unit be connected and have a source
Can someone please fax me the wiring diagram for the kenwood excelon rvt-911 dvd player, i need to hook one up and need to know what the wiring color goes to what. (419)754-1064 thank you.

@kellybyrd43: the KVT911-DVD screen slides out but will not flip up on its own. You will need to push the screen up yourself. This is how this model works.
