I just bought an ASUS 24'' Monitor, and it worked fine when I first hooked it up. All of the buttons (menu/brightness/etc.) worked fine. After a few minutes of using the monitor, the screen blacked out, but the power light was still on. I couldn't get the screen to come back on, so I unplugged the power and reconnected it. The screen came back on for a second and blacked out again. I can get it to work intermittently though but it seems to shutoff whenever it feels like it. Also the buttons on the monitor don't work anymore. Only the button that switches modes does. (dvi, hdmi, vga). The power button doesn't even work when it's plugged in. I have to unplug the monitor to turn it off. Help please?
Well If the monitor is brand new and you just purchased I would take it back and get another one as it appears to be defective. Most stores will allow you to exchange a defective item without a problem as long as you have the receipt. Any attemot to make repairs yourself could void the warranty. If it is used it may still be under warranty...I would get the model/serial number and contact Asus to have repairs made. Most monitors have at least a one year warranty.
