I have the same problem as quoted where after upgrading my TomTom Go910 for some time, it started this new problem for which every 3 minutes it freezes, shuts down and then reboot.
Anybody knows the fix would be greatly appreciated.
Just had this problem with my Tom Tom XL IQ Routes. Screen freezing and then rebooting exactly every 3 minutes just after I had done an upgrade to maps and application software. After trying a software reload and getting nowhere I solved it by simply doing a factory reset using the factory reset option in the units menu. No problem since. Couldn't believe it was that simple. I will however be keeping a very close eye on it!

1. open your tomtom as a folder 2. copy all info from tt to a new folder on your computer 3. format tt in fat32 4. download tomtom home and run it 5. make all upgrades that the tthome sais 6. copy the folders with maps and voices from saved ones 7. if restarts or freeze on logo, open tt as folder and delete the file MapSettings.cfg from map folder 8. say thank you

depends on which TomTom Go you have (maps preloaded only go700 and go910 no memory card slot)
This is for Go910
Tap Change preferences in the Main Menu.
(When you first start
using your TomTom ONE XL, not all the buttons will be shown in the
menu. Many buttons and some more advanced features are hidden because
you will not need these features very often. To see all of the buttons
and features, tap "Show ALL menu options" button in the Preference
menu.)
then Tap "Turn off map display" button to turn off the map. Instead of seeing your position on a map in the Driving View, you will only see information about the next instruction.
you can download all TomTom manual
go to tomtom website ----> support scroll down at the right hand side click Find downloads
According to Kevin A who says, and thanks by the way (There is a reset button on the back at the top of the unit. It should be on the right side as you turn the unit around. Insert a paperclip or pin into this hole, and the unit should reset) at it works 100% because I tried this morning after being quoted £55 to have my GO910 fixed and now it works after the price of a paper clip.
