SOURCE: maytag washer door boot

Remove 2 screws holding door hinge to cabinet and remove door.  Then remove 2 screws opposite these. Grab front panel with thumbs at area of screws you removed and pull outward with thumbs. Panel will pivot forward.  Remove panel from lower clips.  At top of exposed area remove 2 5/16 screws.  Remove brackets under them.
Open dispenser and remove 4 screws.  Careful not to drop in dispenser.  Remove dispenser frame assembly.
You can now raise top of washer to a 90 degree position.
Now back to front exposed area.  Grab boot where it contacts front and peel out of groove.  Also remove two screws holding light assembly and remove cover.  Remove all 5/16 screws holding front assembly and the ones on top area where it is on a bevel.  Remove front assembly by folding up and onto top.
Now we are at the boot.  Remove spring and wire assembly holding boot to drum.  Make note on boot position and spring position.  Remove boot.  Install new boot onto drum.  wrap wire around drum with ends at top.  Now the fun!  Hook spring to on end of wire and using vise-grips,  pull to other end to hook into wire.  It can be done,  honest.
Now just reverse to reassemble.  should be instructions with boot.   Good luck!

SOURCE: maytag mav7000aww washing machine doesn't work

Ok, I figured it out, at least my problem.  The short answer is that you need to replace the lid switch assembly, maytag mav7000aww part no. 12001908.
To verify you have the same problem as I do, remove the rear cover to the control panel (three philips head screws and two machine bolts, see http://www.partselect.com/ModelFrames.aspx?ModelID=117917&ModelNum=MAV7000AWW&mfgModelNum=&ManufactureID=1&Selected=52442&Position=2&mfg=Maytag&Type=&Mark=2 no. 14.)  Use a volt meter to verify that you have power coming into the lid switch assembly harness (black wire).  Use the volt meter to verify that you have no power coming out of the lid switch assembly harness (red and yellow wires.)
To further verify that you have the same problem as I do, remove the wire harness from the lid switch assembly and use a ohm meter to verify that the switch is not allowing power transmission.  In the lid closed position (lid switch depressed), use ohm meter to test line-to-motor and line-to-machine connections.
If you verify that you have no power down-circuit of the lid switch assembly using the two methods above, then you have my problem.  In this case, you can purchase the part noted at top for less than $25.

SOURCE: model GHW910PWO shuts down during the rinse, spin cycle

First, pressing cancel twice should clear the error code and it should restart when you press start. Then you can press cancel to stop the whole thing This should also unlock it. Unplugging it for a long while may also clear the code and unlock the door, not sure.
the F-9 says it is an overflow condition and may need to be serviced. The F-11 says there is a serial communication error. This might be the case if the pump is running overtime due to clogging.

To check if the filter is clogged, open the front panel, put a bucket in front of the unit, unseat the rubber feet holding in the white plug,  pull the white plug out so when you unscrew it, any water will run into the bucket, then unscrew it and clean the filter. screw the filter back in, set the white plug back into the unit, being sure to secure it with the rubber feet.
As for it stopping, you may be filling it too heavy and the motor stopped if it over heated?

Hotpoint FDEU 9640 washer dryer - stops during dry cycle with all LEDs flashing amber

If your Hotpoint FDEU 9640 washer-dryer is stopping prematurely during the dry cycle with all the LEDs flashing amber, it could be caused by a few different issues:
  1. Check the filter: Make sure the filter is clean and not blocked. A blocked filter can cause the machine to stop working properly.
  2. Check the venting: Make sure the venting system is clear and not blocked. A blocked vent can cause the machine to overheat and stop working.
  3. Check the heating element: If the heating element is faulty, it can cause the machine to overheat and stop working.
  4. Check the thermostat: If the thermostat is faulty, it can cause the machine to overheat and stop working.
  5. Check the control board: The control board controls the various functions of the washer-dryer. If it is faulty, it can cause the machine to stop working.
  6. If none of the above steps work, it is possible that the machine has a more serious problem that requires professional service.
It is important to refer to the user manual or contact Hotpoint technical support for further assistance and specific troubleshooting steps for your washer-dryer model. It is also important to make sure the machine is not plugged in before attempting any troubleshooting steps. It is also important to note that it is not safe to use a multimeter to test any of the heating element or thermostat

Machine lost power during wash cycle.

If the electricity does power off in the middle of washing cycles the washing machine will turn off then. Some of the most common problems that will make your washer turn off during mid cycle can include thermostat failure or issues filling up with water for the rinse cycles or even problems with the pump and the hose that can stop your washer from draining the water. You should call a person that fixes washing machines to have a look and see what the problem is with your washing machine.

The washer was starting spin cycle. It stopped & started huming. The door won't unlock. It has water in it. unplugging hasn't changed anything.

If it has water in it it may not unlock the door, it depends on what type of door lock is fiited as it may be a pressure type. If you can get the outlet hose out and lower it below the level of the drum to drain the water that is in it then the door may open oncethe pressure is gone.

Hi

It seems that something is clogged in the drain pump assembly and you have to clean it to solve this issue. After cleaning if the issue returns then test the door lock assembly, if bad it should be replaced. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

I load the clothes into the washing machine, I turn it on select cycle and the door locks and will NOT unlock. The door will however unlock after the cycle is finished.

Not sure if you're unable to open the door AFTER you stop the cycle. That may be normal operation as a safety measure (won't open until after your cycle has completed). However, if your model DOES allow for opening the door during cycle operations then your electronic door lock may be defective.

My lg door will not unlock

this kind of door lock is called PTC door lock.It is designed for protecing you from opening the dooe during the washing and spining cycles which may hurt you.So, if you want to open the dooe during cycles, pls press "stop",then ,wait 2 mins, you will be able to open it by then.the other situation is that, the power is cut off during working cycles, solution is:re-start the washer and directly open the door.Pls note that this kind of lock has to work under power
