The cap is a plastic disk, usually black or silver, that snaps on at the end of the lens to keep the lens clean. Some lenses have two caps, one for each end when not attached to the camera.
Some cameras don't use a "loose" cap; those cameras generally retract the lens into the camera body and "close" a door in front of the lens.
Many, if not most, camera users do not use a cap (my guess).

The wide angle lens is generally an "optional" lens that can be used for group or scenery pictures when you want to shoot a "wide" picture. A "normal" lens is generally around 50mm (plus / minus 5mm). A wide lens is anywhere from 17mm to 24mm (or so).

I recommend obtaining a wide lens... with a cap.

Hope this helps!

Looking for a lense support for a quantaray 75-200 mm lense

what do you mean, lens support? - a 75-200 is not usually long enough to warrant this, if you mean a support bracket to mount the lens to a tripod, instead of a camera mounting point?

btw - sigma made all or most of the lenses for quantaray, so you might try looking this one up that way as well.

Replace lense cover on camera

You can try doing a Google search for your camera make model. I did and found this - below.
btw - Canon is spelled with one "n" which might help in your search results. I'd go to canon usa and click on their link or search their store for your replacement lens cap. Different lenses have different sized lens caps, so be sure you have the right one.

How do i set wide angle on my nikon d3100

You don't "set wide angle." Wide angle is not a function of your camera, it is dependent on the lens you use on your camera. You need a lens with a low focal length such as 24 mm.

Hi, I bought a CANON FD - 28 mm f 2.8 WIDE ANGLE LENS for my OH's eos 400D, he says it doesnt fit, its too small. Is there an adapter or anything or should I just look for the right one? Many thanks

Canon FD lenses date back to before the mid 1980's. They use a totally different mounting system to the later EOS mount which was a redesign to suit the needs of auto-focussing.

Unfortunately they are chalk and cheese: you cannot realistically fit an FD lens to an EOS camera.

Your fix is to sell the lens and to buy one with an EOS mount.

Optical zoom

Hey needacamera,
The range of an optical zoom lens refers to how wide angle to telephoto the lens covers. An example of a 6x optical zoom would be an 18mm-108mm lens, which covers wide angle to telephoto. An example of a 3x zoom lens would be an 18mm-54mm lens, which would provide a capability of capturing images from wide angle to normal views. To calculate the x factor of an optical zoom you would divide the largest number by the smallest number on your zoom. I hope this helps!

Sincerely,
Allan

Fitting a different lens

This camera doesn't allow interchangeable lenses. Any "wide angle lens" would screw onto the front of the existing (non-removable) lens as an additional lens element.

Lens

Have you ever heard the expression "Good, Fast, Cheap ...pick any two" ? Well, it's that situation. The kit lens is cheap, and it has a good zoom range (including wide-angle) but it's not very high quality. The best lens for you is probably the 17-55 EF-S -but it is $1000. It is a great lens, and it's efficient and light sensitive, along with image stabilization. Without knowing your budget, I would also recommend the 28-135 EF IS, but it doesn't cover the wide angle range. That one is $400. There's also the 17-85mm, which also has Image Stabization. That one is about $500.

Wide-Angle Lense Fuzziness

That's completely normal for those cheap wide angle add on lenses. There good for a little fun but nothing serious. I bought the lens kit for the Kodak DC3400, probably the exact same lens. The telephoto in that kit was actually pretty reasonable though.

Wide Angle Lenses

wide angle lens aka fish-eye lens, means only the centre of your photo is clearly focused - especially in long distance scenery shots.
