Connect to TV

Sometimes the DVD players do not connect the scart like the VCR did. It has to do with the protection of the digital rights.
If you only have one scart entry on your TV, try connecting the DVD on the VCR and the VCR on the TV. (if possible)

Is it possible to record and play dvd through a set top box....on a tv with only 1 av channel

If you take a scart lead from av1 on the dvd into the tv,then a scart lead from the digi box into av2 on the dvd,you will then be able to watch dvd and digi box, also you can record from digi box on channel av2 on the dvd.You may have to turn off a unit to watch one.

DVD player won't always play feature

It is probably misreading the disk. That is what ours did. We would have to take it out and put it back in several times to get it to work. You can take it to be repaired and get a DVD drive in it, but it would probably be cheaper to get a new one, since they're only about $25 dollars these days. (Note: the cheapest DVD players seem to work best for us)

Will only play in black and white. worked in color last night

You can try cleaning the laser disc head with a cotton swab and some isopropyl alcohol. Apply a small amount of alcohol on the tip of a cotton swab and rub it back and forth gently across the laser head unitl it looks bright and shines. Use the dry side of the swab to remove any excessive moisture from the head. Check the laser transport and make sure its action is smooth and easy. Clean it with a cotton swab and a small amount of alcohol.Use a can of compressed air to blow clear any dust and debris in the laser disc compartment. Now try to play your disc and see if it operates normally. If not you can call Zenith customer service at this telephone number 1-800-243-0000 give them the model number of your dvd player and the problem you are having with loss of color. They will be able to tell you how to get service for the problem. I hope this information helps you with your problem.

DVD recording.

Sounds like the DVDR is recording from the digi-box through the TV, so when the TV is switched of or into standby the signal is lost, causing the recorder to pause.

Assuming the digi-box has two scart sockets, connect as follows:

  • Scart 1 or TV scart of the digi-box to the TV.
  • Scart 2 or VCR/DVD scart of the digi-box to scart 1 of the DVDR3380.
The TV aerial should already be connected through the digi-box and DVDR3380 to the TV

To record from the digi-box, select AV1 / E1 / EXT1 on the DVDR3380
