I have put the cd in and it has gone through the stages, however the printer will not scan, and there is no all in one centre to send photos etc.on the drop down list in start. The printer to print from computer ok, but can not scan although it is on computer as lexmark, but lemark printer says software not fully uploaded. i can not buy pass this or get on from here. is this printer etc not compatabile, or am i missing something? Lexmark all in one solution software you used in XP doesn't work with Vista.
But you can still scan and copy by using Windows Photo Gallery.
1. Click on files tab at the top in Window Photo Gallery.
2. Click on import from camera or scanner.
3. Highlight your scanner icon (ie lexmark 4300) then click import.
4. "New scan" window will popup, now you can preview or scan using this basic looking Vista tool.

I feel your pain man. I spent 6 hours on tech support with Lexmark yesterday and. I have a 5270 all-in-one and I cannot fax now. They are NOT compatible with Vista. If you call and complain enough they WILL send you a CD rom with the compatible files for your printer for the Vista platform. They are NOT advertising this nor releasing publicly at the moment because they don't want to give away something they are going to charge $15 ea. cd for. Go to Lexmark.com and log into tech support chat and let them run you around until they give you the 800 number to call for FREE phone support. Then they will fess-up to the fact that there IS updated files for Vista, but they are only giving them out on a case-by-case basis for customer satisfaction. Especially if you ave an older unit as I do. They would rather you go out and purchase a new unit but I tld them I loved my 5270...has great fax software and I cannot afford to upgrade at this time as I was just recently robbed. My unit was Manuf. 3/2004. Unfortunately you will have to spend a few hours with them as I did. They are sending me the CD in 3 days via FEDEX for FREE.

hi guys, i have had the same problem, i have a p4350 all in one printer and when i updated to Vista i couldnt get my install cd to work...i downloaded the install file from lexmark website...cjr4300eng.exe and all worked except OCR and FAX...i emialed lexmark and they couldnt help.....but i tricked my computer and now everything works just fine.....this what you have to do......
Step 1 - uninstall all previous lexmark software
Step 2 - download the cjr4300eng.exe file from

Step 3 - extract the file to c:\drivers\printer\4300 but do install the software, just cancel
Step 4 - once you've extracted, copy the OCR and FAX folders from the original INSTALL CD to the same directory c:\drivers\printer\4300 along with all files from the ROOT directory (autorun.inf, cdicon.ico, hidclass.sys etc) on the CD EXCEPT "setup.exe"
Step 5 - open setup.exe and wait for install, it should notify you twice of installation so be patient.....and WOLA you're done

Hi...Just to exprtess my thanks to whom ever posted the solution to scanning with a Lexmark 4350 printer!!!...It cost me all sorts of money with experts, "Free downloads" of Driver toolkits etc; only to have the expert get my copier going BUT NO SCANNER!!!
I finally ...on receipt of this advice, contacted Lexmark service and they admitted that NONE of their older,(although I had only purchased mine in December 2007) all-in-ones were NOT compatable with Vista..The NEW X5470 is and is the cheapest.More important they confirmed the advice you gave...USE WINDOW PHOTO GALLERY AND EMAIL FROM THERE.

Will have to agree that the new VISTA programme has created all sorts of problems with older Software....In fact although I am now getting used to using it I have no idea what the EXTRA windows are for or what use they will be. Added to that there is now NO MANUAL.....You cannot leaf through anything to get a solution ...It is stated that everyting is on the Internet...BUT MAN!!!!! Have you tried?
Certainly the idea of using Photo Gallery does work for scanning ...but it is a Round-a-about way of getting it done....Instead of just clicking a command to Scan etc.

Start your computer in "safe" mode. Uninstall any previous installed components of Lexmark. Restart your computer. Goto www.lexmark.co.uk on the tabs across the top of the page, select drivers and downloads, then select driver finder, select your printer and which os you use (ie vista or vista 64-bit) - you can find out this information if you open my computer and click on system properties - then download, run and follow all instructions.
I had exactly the same problem and this is exactly what i did. The important part is starting computer in safe mode and uninstallin components from there - i tried it normally and it kept sayin not responding!!

I am having similar problems.Cannot find any updated driver to make 4350 compatible with Vista...Will only print and will not even operate manually aprt from new HP computer. Have tried proffessionals to fix problems without success....DOES LEXMARK HAVE AN ANSWER. only purchased allin on prior to Christmas 2007....Surely this is an upgrade driver out by now...Would loke a reply...hopefully my email address is registered..

Computer only recognizes Lexmark P4350 all in one as a printer. Can not scan or print photos or envelopes. No menu for these. Only printer function. Is there anything that can be done to fix this? I have a Toshiba computer with windows vista.

have loaded and uninstalled disc several times and although l can get printer recognised and printing, lcannot get an icon to open up imaging studio. Therefore no scanning copying etc.

put disc in for P4350 all in one it seems to load then stops,nothing happens unit will not turn on. Went to lexmark they downloaded a program but again nothing. This unit worked with old computer that had windows XP with out any problem.
