Freezer will not freeze water, gets cold enough to freeze the top layer of water, but not all the way through. I've checked and topped off the refrigerant and have also cleaned the coils in the back. Any suggestions

Are both evaporator fan and condensor fan running? You stated that you topped off the charge.Assuming the charge is ok, the next thing to check would be the expansion valve.May not be metering the freon properly.A faulty expansion valve can trick you into thinking the unit is undercharged. It may be partially open and starving the evaporator.(Not freezing the water totally)You should have a even coating of frost on the evaporator coil when running.Hope this helps, let me know if i can assist you any further.

Freezer is not freezing

Good Morning Friend,

I understand that your Frigidaire freezer is not getting cold enough to freeze your food. I suggest cleaning the compressor, underneath your appliance, by using an attachment on your vacuum. I also suggest lowering the temperature and giving your freezer 4-24 hours to stabilize at that temperature. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your dishwasher status has changed successfully. If further troubleshooting is needed, please leave me the model number of your freezer. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

Top 3 shelves don't freeze

Cold air sinks. If evaporator temp is not low enough only the items on bottom of freezer will get cold and possibly freeze - stuff on top will not.
Throw a digital thermometer in there towards the top shelves and I bet your temps are high. Low refrigerant will cause this; furthermore, if you leave the refrigerator door open by accident, the refrigerator will never shut off, the freezer evaporator will freeze over with a block of ice, and the freezer temps will be higher. If that is what happened, simply unplug the unit and allow it to self defrost and then turn it back on for proper operation and make sure that the refrigerator door is properly closed!

I have an AHT Salzburg chest freezer and it's stuck in "chilling" mode and not getting cold enough to freeze anything. It's a commercial freezer and says it has chilling and freezing modes but how do I get...

pull the plug and let it defrost. ck the drain for water. it maybe pluged. after 2 to 4 hrs. plug it back in and set the temp. to -10 degrees f . fill small dish or bowl with water and see how long it take to freez. if it takes longer then 4 hrs you may need freon or have a compreesor problem, or defrost timer .

My hotpoint under counter freezer isn't freezing properly

A freezer has a very simple operating design and there are only 2 customer serviceable components.
1. Make sure the cold control is set at the proper level.
2. Make sure that the door seal is making good contact with the cabinet. You can apply a thin coat of Vaseline to the door seal to help tight closure of the door.
Keep the door opening to a minimum during extreme heat conditions. Any small air leak can drastically reduce the operating norms during extreme heat conditions.
That's about all that you can do to regain control, the rest will have to be performed by a refrigeration tech. if you are still dissatisfied.

Freezer not getting cold enough to freeze.

First culprit could be a refrigerant leak and needs to be charged. If the evaporator is frozen solid it won't push enough sub zero air to freeze. Call a trusted ac&or repair man

Candy fridge freezer

It sounds like a Freon leak. The compressor is running and it gets a little cold. THis is not something you can fix yourself. You have to have certification to buy freon and gauges and know exactly how to use them. Besides in most cases you can't find the leak and will have to keep recharging it.
