I have a BE 500 U system and it has started giving me the tone that sounds when there has been a power outage. The only way to stop it is to turn it off. I can let it sit for a time and turn it back on and it will work okay for a while.

Make sure your phone bill is current, paid in full. If thats not it, then you need to contact your phone company because there is an outage. Give it some time to clear up. If yet even that doesn't fix the problem, It could be your handset. Hope I've helped some :)
