Just bought the Westinghouse 32W4 LCDTV/DVD combo this past June (2007). Within a few months of operation (I use it for TV/DVD as well as for my computer monitor), it started to develop a dark stripe about 3 inches from the right edge of the screen and about 1/2 inch wide that runs from top to bottom. It varies depending on the color of the background, from a light "tobacco" color against a solid white, to a dark indigo blue on TV mode. It has gotten darker with time, and now seems to almost exhibit signs of classical "burn in", although folks tell me this is nigh unto impossible on an LCD. It's noticible no matter what video mode I'm in (TV/DVD/Composite in for the PS2/VGA/etc.) Not sure if LCD's can or should be degaussed but I'm willing to try just about anything at this point.
I could fix this. I played a white screen(by connecting my computer) through out the night and it got fixed by the next day. It is basically because you play a lot of 4:3 ( default old TV ratio) video. Always make sure to play everything in "overscan" mode.
I experienced the same approx. 1/2" vertical stripe on a Viewsonic vx1945 and ATI Radeon x1050 video adapter on Vista Business SP1, but the stripe appeared along the left edge of the screen, instead of right edge. I then temporarily decreased the monitor resolution, and the stripe went away. I then increased the monitor resolution back to its original setting, and the stripe did not re-appear. So, that was the 'fix' in my situation, hope this helps.

Very similar issue, The line appears about 3-4 inches from right. Not very wide - about 1cm thick. It is just dark compared to other area on the LCD. Really annoying... is there any resolution>?
