How can I determine if there is clog in the middle of the drain tube in Frigidaire top freezer frig

My Frigidaire refrig/top freezer is leaking water onto the floor, have checked the drain and can't get anything down the drain from inside the frig whether it be hot water, a small tube or wire. There isn't anyway to remove the back panel of the frig. WE have gone as far as we can from inside the drain hole inside the frig and from the drain tube that goes into the drain pan. Model # is FRT15HB3JQ2

The only access to the drain tube is from the inside which would mean removing the inner cabinet or liner - completely impractical and probably a waste of time as a collapsed drain tube is likely to be a sign the insulation is failing.

I expect you will find there will be at least one cold spot on the outer cabinet. A friend had the same trouble. In her case the top at the back was the worst offender and we extended the life by placing a 4" polystyrene block on the top. She mopped out the fridge daily.

I find a curtain wire is the most suitable for poking around in fridge drains.

SOURCE: Clogged defrost drain tube.

It should be just below the evaporator coils. The panel covering the fan should also be the one covering the drain tube. You'll probably have to pull the shelves out to get the panel off (depending on the model, sometimes you'll have to pull the back panel off too, sometimes it's just on the top.)

Frigidaire FRS26ZNH frig is freezing water in the bottom of the freezer and is leaking water onto the floor.

Hi

The drain hole is clogged. Remove the food and do a complete defrost. Most of the time the blockage is caused by ice in drain line. If that does not fix the problem, the drain hose to evaporator is clogged. The drain line (TUBE-DRAIN) is part 64 in diagram below. Click on the picture to enlarge:

Water is leaking on then freezing on the floor of my upright frigidaire freezer. At first I just thought it was a fluke and cleaned it out, but he next day their was frozen water again. I also am finding...

Your freezer goes to a defrosting cycle and actualy melts away some ice formation inside the freezer, normaly this melted ice (water) drains trough a tube in the back of the frig... the drain is probably clogged and the water spils out... to unclogg it you need to find the uper end of the drain (where the water drips in) usualy way in the back of the frigidaire, than try pushing a long wire in downwards to unclogg the drain, also check underneath or in the back of the frig. ther should be a back to hold the water for the time it evaporates, see if it is not full of water or dirt (dust) i even foud some pet toys in there once ha! ha!

Hope this helped!

The inside of freezer is leaking from back wall - there is no ice maker. water that leaks is freezing and taking up space. what can be causing this

the drain line is clogged causing the ice build up .the frig has to defrost every 6 to 8 hours so every time it defrosts is when it will leak ..you will have to defrost the frig manually ..turn it off. open the doors. let it defrost. remove the thick ice on the bottom ..after its defrosted take the bottom an back panel off.. un plug frig first !! drainline is in the back in the middle of the freezer. unclogg it hot water or shop vac be carefull good luck!! drain line should go to a pan under the frig, in the back make sure it drains before putting back together

There is a leak at the front of refrig clear water and all water lines have no holes and only happens in summer time

Just fixed mine w/the same problem! Unplug the fridge and pull it away from the wall. Check that your drain hose is not clogged: it runs down the back of your fridge and you need to disconnect the tubing from the fixture where it goes into the middle of the back of the fridge, by turning the fixture approx. 1/4 turn counterclockwise. This will help disconnect the tubing and will allow you to pull out the fixture which connects to the internal drain. I had to run a pipe cleaner and hot water thru this fixture, which has several S-curves in it that traps sediment. Check the tubing too. If these aren't clogged, your internal drain may be iced over. You will have to empty the contents of your freezer, and remove the icemaker and back panel of the freezer (my screws were 1/4-inch ratchet type). There is a drain hole at the middle bottom of the back wall. Check for ice and pour in very hot water to melt it. Check the inside of the bottom part of your fridge to make sure water isn't leaking in from the cooling vents at the control panel. If neither of these tasks works, then I don't know what to tell you! Good luck!
