SOURCE: Generator stopped producing electricity

if the generator has been sitting for a while you might have to excite the magnets to start producing power. plug in a reversible drill and with the generator running turn the drill in the reverse direction by hand while holding the trigger in the forward position.

Get a volt meter, go to ohms setting , check transformer to ground for low to zero ohms reading. also look closely at transformer windings for foreign objects in between them, never know what you my find. If transformer is shorted to ground probably time to say some nice words over it before burial. Also just for kicks try a new gun on it, (there is a reason i'm asking you to do(this) see if you can find someone that has spare. A good honest repair shop would probably be reasonable if all else fails. to a least let you know if the transformers a problem. good luck

Miller duop welder no arc

If you have checked the fuses, brushes, continuity, and slip rings and still have no power to the rear slip ring, there could be a problem with the wiring or connections in the welder. Some things to check include:
  • Inspecting the wiring for any damage or lose connections
  • Inspecting the connections for any corrosion or damage
  • Checking the terminals for tightness
  • Inspecting the generator for any damage or issues
  • Checking the voltage regulator to ensure that it is functioning properly
Additionally, it's also possible that the problem could be with the generator itself or the alternator, if the generator is not producing enough power, that could affect the rear ring.
It's highly recommended to take your welder to a certified Miller Electric welder repair service center, they will be able to diagnose and fix the issue. They have the right tools and knowledge to troubleshoot the problem. It's also important to check the manual of the welder to check if there are any other troubleshooting steps that you can follow.

Why miller bobcat 250 runs great and generator works but wont weld fuses are good ?

If your Miller Bobcat 250 runs great, the generator works, but the welder will not weld, even though the fuses are good, it could be caused by a few different things. Here are a few things you can try to fix the issue:
  1. Check the welding settings, make sure they are appropriate for the type of welding you are doing. Make sure the voltage and amperage are set correctly.
  2. Check the ground connection, make sure it's clean and tight. The ground connection must be secure for stable welding.
  3. Inspect the welding cables and make sure they are in good condition and that the connections are tight.
  4. Check the welding gun and make sure it's clean and in good condition.
  5. Check the main contactor and make sure it's engaging and disconnecting properly.
  6. Check the main circuit breaker and make sure it's not tripped.
  7. Check the power output of the generator and make sure it's within the correct range.
  8. Check the control circuit and make sure that it's not damaged or malfunctioning.
It's important to check the manual of the welder for troubleshoot steps and also check the warranty of the welder and see if it's still covered by the manufacturer. If you are not able to find the problem or if you are not familiar with welding equipment, it's best to take your welder to a qualified Miller Electric welder repair service center, they will be able to diagnose and fix the issue.

Why would the welder on the miller trailblazer 250G 4000 watt generator welder quit working but the generator still works?

  8. Check the control circuit and make sure that it's not damaged or malfunctioning.
  9. Check the engine oil level and make sure it's not too low, low oil level can cause the engine to overheat and stop working.
  10. Check the air filter and make sure it's not clogged, if the air filter is dirty, it will cause the engine to run hot.

Your generator is a welder?? Yikes, the 220 volts coming out of the genny is not the same as the 220 volts running a welder, it is, but it isn't, the 220 volts used to run the welder are transformed into DC, in the 50 -150 amp range, the 220 volts coming out of your genny is 220 volts, AC, at 30-40-50 amps. Now exactly how were you welding with 220 volts AC? Remove anything plugged into the genny, check the oil, check the gas, make sure it is fresh, check the breakers, check the fuses, get it running, now don't try to weld with it again. Unless you have a big welder to plug into it and I wouldn't even do that because of the generator spikes. I might be wrong, but I have never seen a genny with a welder on it for home use.

Whats th best oil to use in my gas welder

use a multi-viscosity sae sj grade or better oil. recommended motor oil is 10w-30. if you work in cold environments use a 5w-30 oil . it's thinner and will flow easier during cold starts. synthetic oil is better, just more expensive. do regular oil changes at least every one hundred hours. good luck!

Welder will not power auxillary outlets

sounds like either something is shorted out or the governor is stuck. Check the governor linkage to start with and make sure it is free. Then check the push in breakers for the outlets to see if they are popped. If not the brushes or the armature could be stuck or corroded.
