We just installed a jenn air downdraft cooktop with black ceramic top under the burners. Before we ever used it, a wooden bowl from a shelf above fell on the corner and crack and chipped the glass. The cooktop cost $1100. The replacement cost of the glass alone is $950. Can it be repaired with something like epoxy? The glass is $450, the trim $270. The rest of the unit works fine. This cost seems ridiculous and I might as well buy a new unit and donate this one to Habitat or something for tax credit. I would want to fix it decently if I am going to donate it. Any solutions?
