Slide the REC/PLAYBACK selector switch to the camera symbol. Set the mode dial to the camera symbol. Press the MENU/SET button. Use cursor-up/down to select the next-to-last item on the menu (it will have a head-and-speech-bubble symbol).

Digital cameras have too many circuit connectors that could develop contact resistance without boundary lubricants. Cheaper to buy a new digital camera.

From the descriptions you said, it is unlikely that it is the card that is malfunctioning. It is probably the card slot inside your camera. Make sure that your card is inserted firmly. Also, check the inside of the card slot if it has bent / broken connectors. It might need servicing / replacing.

you'r menu should have a reset setting, there are 2 menu's 1 when you'r ready to take a picture & 1 when you'r viewing you taken pictures

Sounds as if it has either received a knock, or foreign matter (grit etc) has got into the lens mechanism.

If you are using a flash, than you shutter speed is too high for the shutter to fully open. if you are in daylight than your shutter is malfunctioning and needs repair
