May be a capacitor on the board going bad.

It is a good possibility that you have 1 of your inverter transformers going bad. I wouldn't wait to have it looked at. It can cause more damage if the bad one let's go all together.

This problem is caused by a bad backlight power supply. Check out this page on our web site:

You will need to open your monitor and replace the parts call capacitors that are damaged as directed on the page.
