I have connected my Bush DS-A332B dvd player to my Sharp Aquos 32GD8E 32 inch flat screen TV with a Bush HDMI cable (26602BU) but can only get sound and no picture. The cable is slotted into Ext 5 yet when I switch on the dvd player it doesn?t automatically go to that Ext. If I connect the player to the TV via scart lead when I switch on the dvd player it automatically goes to the scart Ext which is Ext 2. I bought this player because of the HDMI upscalling capability. There are no other external components connected to my tv eg, video player or home cinema system. Do I need any other leads to connect the dvd player or should the HDMI cable be sufficient on it?s own? How to I get a picture?

What is connected to your HDMI cable? Some devices do not send audio down the HDMI cable.

And you have selected the HDMI2 input in the TV menu? If yes, try the dvd on another TV, if you have one. Also try reversing the HDMI cable.

1. You should check you cabling connections at the satellite receiver to the TV.
2. Check the mode you are in on the HDMI cable
3. Your HDMI should have 3 modes in the set up screen (HDMI 1,2,3)

Reset all audio factory setting.Tries unplug,replug it well work,if ur backlight video board it still good.

I have a similar problem. The Sharp TV aquos appears to be shutting down my blue ray player and dvd recorder when connected via HDMI. They work fine and never close down when I connect them via the rca cables either single video connection or a composite 3 cable rca lead. I have 3 HDMI inputs on the tv and the problem occurs on all 3. Any suggestions?

I had the same problem with the Sharp Acquos LC-32GD8E. A repair man was able to fix this by opening up the back cover and tightening the metal (ground) shield. the screws seem to have come lose. If I had known this I would have done it myself!

i have had to replace the hdmi input board on these units to fix them.

Best would be hdmi next would be component, both can carry 1080p signal, but hdmi beats component as it can upscale to 1080p.
