Try to have it plugged for a long time, perhaps its battery discharged and needs some time to turn on again, just be patient

SOURCE: power failure with compaq amarda

DC Power Jack is most like defective. Typically bad/cold solder joint. Since this is a 3 state 2 prong jack, it would be best to locate and OEM Jack and replace- simply reflowing or resoldering does not always fix it. 3 State means the battery will charge with AC on and Laptop off the laptop will work with the AC on the laptop will work with the AC off and battery charged Worse case scenario an on board fuse blown (rare) Don't forget to rate me - Why? SOURCE: My Compac Armada M700 does not power up.

Had the same problem with My Compaq M700 No Boot Or Post. Battery Light Flashes 8 Times, Have to Wait 24 to 48 hrs sometimes longer to get Laptop to Start. Tryed the DC Converter Board Change No Difference same Problem. Noticed When Laptop Did Start Clock Time Was always a Little Off 2-4 Hours sometimes more. So Figure CMOS Problem With Time Issues. Read About Battery Memory Transitor Voltage spike Detection Issues Corrected With Newer Bios Flash at HP Supports. So I Flashed Bios With Latest 686h. During the First Boot After Reflash Battery LED Did flash No Start, After pushing the power button again it Started. And has Every since.So Far Laptop Now Boots Everytime and CMOS Checksum Seems To Keep Time Correct In Windows. The Bios Flash Corrects a Voltage Spike Detecting Transistor In The Charging Circuit. During First Start after flash Bios will run system test on the charging system and Correct CMOS. Worked for Me Hope this Helps a Few.

Yellow led blink 8 times compaq m700

Hi,

I'm not understanding what the problem is. If the battery is dead, and you remove it, how do you expect it to recharge? Why would you remove it? So, you take it out and nothing happens.So? What were you expecting to happen?

Before you do anything more, read the documentation that came with your laptop to learn how to care for your battery. The amber light usually blinks with the battery is running low. When you plug in the A/C adapter, the light usually becomes steady to indicate the battery is charging. At tleast until you remove it.

Hope this helps. Please rate this repsonse

E system 1212 Laptop won't switch on. Power

Laptops are so integrated that usually a system failure that involves power issues such as in your case where you cant get it turn on with anything on the screen mean the mainboard (motherboard) is damaged. This usually leads to buying a new laptop or paying for the board to be replaced which usually costs as much as the laptop.

Power light is blinking green and amber

my power light flashes green/ amber as soon as it is plugged in, with a dead battery. It seems to go to steady amber if the plug is tapped, but goes back to flashing. It will not hold a charge on a new battery.

Have a compaq pc tower and when i put the power cord in the back all i see is green amber light in the back flashing and no sound or any type of power on the pc.

Just because the light is on doesnt mean it has engough power to start all the components... Try opening the computer and unpluging the things you dont need to start the pc. ie cd rom drives, pci cards floppy drives, ect. If it boots than it is deff the power supply if not it may be either the power supply or motherborad or cpu!

Internal led of ML350 server is glowing.......how do i resolve it?

Hi Franceso, plz specify
Is it powering ON ?
Which LED is glowing?
These leds are there on the front panel :

1 Power On/Standby button
2 System power LED
Green = Power on
Amber = System shut down, but power still applied
Off = No power

3 Internal health LED (Wave sign in BOX)
Green = Normal
Amber = System degraded. To identify the component in a degraded state, refer to system board LEDs.
Red = System critical. To identify the component in a critical state, refer to system board LEDs.
Off = Normal (when in standby mode)

4 External health LED (power supply)
Green = Normal
Amber = Power redundancy failure
Red = Critical power supply failure
5 NIC 1 activity LED Green = Network link
Flashing = Network link and activity
Off = No link to network.
6 UID LED Blue = Activated
Flashing = System remotely managed
Off = Deactivated
7 UID button

If it is Internal health led then any internal h/w issue is suspected.
If it is external health led then any power supply or power source related issue is suspected.
Also check the status of the server & its IML (Integrated Management Logs) in ilo (Integrated Lights Out ) if it is configured. (2nd RJ45 port in rear)

Also make sure the cabinet is properly closed.
